....so I am sitting here reading posts on AF with the T.V. in the back ground, when a show catches my attention...
Apparently, there are these people who are called Sea shepherds who ( doing Whaling season ) actually ATTACK Japanese whaling boats to get them to stop!
here is my view on this....I understand the passion and the views of these Sea shepherds, I get it....they want to save the whales BUT you are going up against people who are doing what they for MONEY! money for them selves, for their Bosses, and from what I understand, it's good money!!! you try to come between me and my livelihood, I don't care who you are...I WILL DESTROY YOU!!!*I am in no mean advocating whale hunting, I like whales*
what do u guys think? is it ok to FORCE your views on others in order to get them to do the "right" thing even though what they are doing isn't illegal?
*Whaling is Illegal but the law allows for a certain amount to be killed for research*

I don't think it's cool for the people to just shove their views on others and try to force them to accept it. I think it would be better for the people to just "show" the whale hunters the other side. People have to realize that there are just things that not everybody is going to like, but things others need to do in order to survive and provide for their family.:scaried:

Not sure what you're talking about, I only know of GreenPeace that did that and I assumed that was who was in the t.v. show as well.
Also, whaling is all research, they could just stay in japan and mix chemicals and make money.

lets put them in the positions of the whales
how would they feel, if they were hunted and killed for money

Come to find out...these guys were started by the co-founder of Greenpeace. He was forced out because his views were deemed to radical...so he started his own thing! the Japanese's stand is that they are conducting research with the whales they kill, and since the Law states that all of the whale must be used, whale meat is taken back to Japan for consumption...

...for me,.its not right to just keep earning money while destroying the nature and its inhabitants!,.
i understand that those guys are just doing their jobs so i hate their bosses!,.
have you guys already watched the documentary of algore?,.
its different from what you want us to discuss in this thread but it has the same point of view i think,.
we are now suffering from climate change and the like coz what matters to us now is to earn money and all that without thinking of what will happen to the world we live in!,.
in the bible,.theres a part that says,.the world has enough for us,.the reason why some lack food and some stuffs because some are greedy and etc,.
maybe you guys dont know what im talking about here but my point is,.we can still earn money while conserving the mother nature!,.
what will you guys feel if other countries destoy our countries because its their job?,.of course you dont like it?,.yeah?,.
well,.thats for me!,.i hope i dont offend anyone!,.♥

If I wanted to waste my life away doing something unimportant, I would join an anime websight and drag the problems and faults of everyone in it out into the open.
Oh wait, I already do that.

I can totally bullsh1t this: each country is given a whaling quota of about 50 whales per annum. Whatever a country wants to do with the whales is their business be it research or food. Now Japan and Spain go over that quota... a lot over it like 400 whales per annum over it.Now where does all that whale go??? research? i can't really imagine so much tons of whales being used in research at one time.Or people's stomaches? whales are precious commodities on the every day market as they have been for THOUSANDS of years and every part of their body is useful even their blood is useful. BTW some makeups are made from whale oil. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whaling

Infliction of beliefs is an act of pitiful desperation. It's childish and rather pathetic regardless of your cause or purpose. They might as well push their religion on people while they're at it. I'm afraid I can't sympathize with anyone who acts on their basic desires of their own view and neglects and ignores the views of others.
This can equally be applied to the whalers and the defunct greenpeace rebels. as a great man once said "I don't come to where you work and jump up and down on the end of the bed, so please don't bother me while I do my job, ma'am"
My only true statement to the matter is, how many f*ckin' whales do you need for research? I mean really, I'm aware of many of the use of whales in industry and they're mostly for retarded reasons that can be accomplished without the use of whales, but seriously, research? I need 400 whales and a bunsen burner, it's time to experiment.

I saw that show advertised on television...Anyway, what Analog says pretty much sums it up in a nutshell I think.

I agree with you, it's wrong for them to force those people to stop. Not that I want whaling to go on. I actually wish it would stop, but these people don't do it because they like killing whales, at least I hope they dont. They do it to feed they're families and take of themselves just like a everybody who needs money, well most people. It's wrong for them to force what they think is right onto some one else who thinks differently.
