I agree, I think since they don't want us to say them, why not make them non-existent.

I love cussing, specially in spanish. I give them no value so i dont see myself affected by them or if somebody cusses at me.

I see them just as words.

I do too. I don't see why these here words should be "outlawed" or be considered offensive when they're just words. I mean, it's like saying that the word "Muffin" is offensive. All swear words are just variations of words. That being said, why not those words be considered bad? It's all so stupid. I enjoy swearing (as most of you can tell...) so yeah... Just words.

Sometimes saying 'I hate you' just isn't enough to express your outrage. Sides, I'm sure most words had a different meaning before used as insults and explicits

there just very interchangeable words that can be used in many contexts. like
e.g. John fuks mary sh!tlessly
e.g. Mary sh!ting stole John's fukn car. (and so on)

but if im in someones home and the words offend them, i can respect that.

some people need to get over themselves... because they are offended too easily.. especially religious people (in general) just my thought on "bad language" first off,i wasn't at the meeting to determine these words were bad, so i didn't get a say (i must have missed that memo ::D: )

and second off, it's kind of selfish to expect people to change themselves for you.. like you're so important, ya know? the only bad words i don't use are are racial slurs, but i just ignore it when my friends say 'em... nothing much i can do about it, and it's not like i'm one of these self indulgant idiots who thinks everyone should act the way they want people to act infront of them... i'm sorry, but no human is that important.

I have nevr understood why a swere word is a bad word. It's like any other word, it has a meaning and a purpose and falls out of existence if you reapeat it alot of times. ^^

You can't simply get rid of something that's been around since humans could speak.

My favorite teacher caught me swearing in the third grade, so I asked her will I get into trouble, are you going to tell my mom? Then she said this, "No, because the words you said are nothing diffrent from the words we speak in a sentance. Words arn't what made thouse things you said bad people did." This statement is probably the reason I swear so much now but, all in all I learned somthing that day. To Mrs. Pucket still my favorite teacher! (btw if you just didnt catch that Mrs.Pucket was my third grade teacher)

Ah cmon, curse words are considered to be offensive because they are down right inappropriate. Don't get me wrong I enjoy using them so i can release my anger. Anger that can only be expressed through the use of words. Of course it's just a word like any other. Which is the same as saying there are good words and bad words...such are the tools of humanity. The same humanity that posses reasoning skills, allowing them to tell the difference between when it's a good or a bad time to use inappropriate language.

Yes, curse words are bad because they are meant to be so let them serve their purpose.

I can think of a dirty means of using the term 'muffin', but we'll leave it at that.
point being, it's not really words, it's the intentions of the person using them. If people use them as a crutch in their speech, then that's their problem for being lazy.

The words themselves are just words, it's what we mean by the words or the connotations that we put behind them. Which is why they are known for being 'curse' words. Also, they weren't mean to be actual profanity when the words were first used. Like 'bitch' was really meant for a female dog. Everyone would use that word when talking about a female dog and 'bastard' was really meant for a boy who was illegitimate. Anyways, there are a ton of words out there that have been misinterpreted and I'm sure as generations pass there will be more words that are used wrongly by some other generation that we use today as a normal word.

That's true. When I was younger I was just cursing people and my parent's were like 'you shouldn't use those kind of words' but now that they're divorced I can use simple words like 'ass' and 'bitch' and they won't say anything...

bad words are like most have said, just words. They were normal words until someone decided they were bad, thats it. You can choose to be offended by them or not. I'm personally not offended as much because I love to use them, they've become part of my soul. Again, they are just words. If you don't like them then pretend they are just a combination of letters with no meaning.

because we need them that is why they where created and i use them a lot on the golf course because that is a better way to exspress anger then throwing clubs and breaking stuff. So it could also be a precoutionary thing put to let people vent some anger in a non distructive way.
