Let's talk about these instruments that not much people know about, so we can discover some new stuff. Yay.
I'll start with the Omnichord. I'm a fan of electronic stuff.

It starts to get good at 1:05, he just shows the different sounds in the beginning so don't go "aah this is boring" like I first did.

that reminded me of a synthesizer and accordion mixed together. pretty cool though.
this is kind of interesting. It's a rendition of radiohead's song "nude" done with hard drives, a printer, a scanner, and an old sinclair computer to generate the leads. get to about 1:10 and it'll pick up.

that was top notch, but I had to stop when he started singing. laughing/ can't stand it.
I posted the tesla coils before too, but here they are again, in the spirit of unusual music makers.

Radiohead cover : Amazing
Kazookeylele : I want one, and you're right the guy shouldn't sing
Tesla Coils : Amazing too, but they should play Star Wars theme on that instead of Zelda haha
Next isn't something you can't play at home, because.. well it's a sea organ.

Weird and unfamiliar instruments? Webb, my band director, was talking about a flugelhorn. Dunno what the hell it is, though. Wasn't quite paying attention.
I actually play the english horn at times. It's like a giant oboe. Loads of fun to play, but it sounds weird. Kinda like a blow-horn.

A flugelhorn is a brass looking a bit like a trumpet but it's wider and.. well look.

there's other tesla tunes too, check down the side. there was the mario bros theme, dance of the sugar plum fairies, and something else I think.

Time to revive that thread. That one made me laugh, looks like a dwarf playing saxophone. And the guy at the end is worth it. It starts at 33 seconds.

I remember when I was a kid, the was a deli at the end of my street owned by a nice swedish couple. The man was named Hanz, and he was a small little man. I think I was equal in size to him by the time i was 12, with him being in his 50's. His wife on the other hand was a stereotypically Large northern european woman. More woman than a vyking could've handled, though she was quite a nice lady. For some reason seeing this minute man strapped by something so unimaginably massive reminded me of the two of them. Damn they made the best sandwiches.

sitars are unusual. they sound hella cool yet barely any bands use them. the only time i herd a sitar used was in the song "love you too" by the beatles. by the way areku that flugelhorn closely resembles a baritone base clef if the mouth piece was curved up to the other side of the valves & held in a vertical position.

The Finnish Kantele. It's not weird, but it certainly is unfamiliar.
