Yes, a single father has made it his duty to ban Spore as an "Evil that promotes the incorrect theory of Evolution, and not God's Creationism ideal."
First off, I want to make it a point that he is just like any other concerned parent, who worries about his family, or rather his son, growing up with a belief that isn't the same as his own. Add to this that he really does believe in what he is speaking for.
However, I do think his fears are mis-placed. For example, he claims that by playing Spore, you are inheritly taught Evolution. Now, take someone like me, athiest, who played both "Black and White" titles, which actually put you as one of 4 different gods in the first game, and your own god in the second. However, I still stand strong in belief of my own ideals that there is no such thing as diety.
We essentially have the same thing when you look at Spore. Some people will play, being devout members of a religion, and still see this game as a fun, enjoyable experience. And that's really what games are about, right?
So, do you think that games such as Spore undermine values like Religion in the home? Or is it more fears out of parents that know little about videogames?
Edit: Today, September 12th, the creator of the site revealed it all to be a hoax, with a simple Rick Roll, by merging it into a bible quote.
But the Bible teaches us that God was not done with man. For we were His creation and He then spoke to Noah in Genesis 8:21-27 after the flood.
“21. The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never gonna give you up. 22. “Never gonna let you down.” 23.”Never gonna run around and desert you.” 24. “Never gonna make you cry.” 25. “Never gonna say goodbye.” 26. “Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.” 27.”Never truly believe anything you read on the Internet. There will always be cases of Poe’s Law.”
I wonder if his supporters feel violated by this.
Oh yeah, and turns out the admin's a mother, not a father.

Ah, Christians... they view everything as 'evil', 'of the devil', 'if you dont believe the same way as me, youre going to hell', 'ha, Im a Christian, so Im better than you'. I dont want to be mean, or discriminate against Christians, but the Christians (or other religions) that believe and say the aforementioned, ruins everything.
Me, Im Athiest, but I respect youre religious views, but only until you start talking **** about my beliefs. Spore is a game, nothing more. Its not teaching anything, its meant for entertainment. So, yeah...

Spore is just a game. Parents are just afraid. If their child believes that something in a video game is true then he's an idiot. I am Muslim. I am a very strong follower of Islam, yet I don't consider Spore to be anti-religion. Spore is a video game, a source of entertainment, if it is "evil", then some anime(like Bleach) and other sources of entertainment should be "evil" too, but they're not. Although I think it should have been at least T-rated.

Before we keep going, I want to remind everyone that I will delete your posts if there are any posts that turn to being against anyone else's religion.

So there's this thing. It's called "entertainment". There's this other thing. It's prashed as "if you don't like something, don't spend your money on it".
Seriously though, how retarded can people get? I remember that some vegetarians got mad at Jack in the Box for a commercial where the "Meats" football team was completely destroying the "Veggies" football team. Oh course this is sooooooooo detrimental to vegetarians that the commercial just had to be removed.
Please. I wish people just kept their goddamn mouth shut when they start yammering about something they don't know.

If you find doubts about your religious views from playing a video game, the game isn't the problem.
It's silly, really. Plenty of games, movies, and books have religious references, discreet or not, it's usually there. And as far as throwing evolution onto people? I also find that silly to worry about. In truth, I think it's ignorant to wall off something referring to a religious view as if it doesn't exist.
After all, one only truly knows their religion when they know what's out there.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
Harry Potter is telling everybody to be Wiccan and Spore is (apparently, I've never played the game) telling everyone that they can be God and that Evolution is real. I think that people just want to be attacked, whether it's because of their religious views, race, or anything really. They crave the chaos that ensues.
If you cannot watch a movie or read a book or even play a game without finding something against you in it, then you belong in a little box so that nobody can find you and say blasphemous things to you.

It's just a game... Most of these people who bash these games don't even know what they are talking about. Put a controller (or in this case a keyboard) in their hands and their entire perspective could change. I took a look on that site and nowhere does it talk about this person having actually played Spore.

I think all of the things like this are made up by really bored assholes.
"Hmm I sure am bored. Oh I know! I'll stir up some pointless controversy! But over what?"
*Flips through tv channels and sees a Spore commercial*
"AH HA! I'll do something to put some dirt on this game. Why the hell not, I mean it's popular and this will certainly get out into the press. Now ummm how can I back up my dereliction against this game... Oh I know! The ultimate controversy mask! Religion! If I use this I can make erroneous claims and I don't have to back myself up! Now, off to make my blog! I wonder how much hate mail I'll get, because I looove hate mail! I get off to that sort of thing!"
Tis true.

I mean, if a kid decides to make an "evil" or obscene creature, that's because they know how to and want to, the game didn't teach them how to or obligated them to do it, so its not the games fault, but by the player's free will, so stop blaming the game, and if you don't like this game, just don't buy it, don't try to make everyone believe what you believe.

Games are meant for entertainment of course they provide insight into the thoughts on feelings of others and their opinions on serious topics - every experience is a little psychological but for it to affect someone's view of life (in this case the creationist theory) so much would require a lot more effort than is put into the average game.
Personally I feel the game should just be enjoyed for what it is :P

The creator has revealed it to be a hoax, please see the first page and click the link as well.
On this note, there were many supporters of his, and a bunch more people that hated him, you can tell by looking through the comments. On this, how do you think the public will take to realizing that the whole thing was fake, supporter or hater?
