now to the point. everyone in real life and internet is to darned serious. if something happens it happens so why does everyone care so much. i get made fun of and flamed all the time. i just sit back and let it happen. and now im kinda ticked. can someone please explain to me why the world is so serious.

First off, everyone is a gross exaggeration.

There's not so many "serious" people, especially the internet. But by your coin someone could ask why there's so many jokers around. (Pun intended, thanks.)

I try only to be serious when people are being tards or steppin' out of line. most people would resort to guns, so I'd say I'm a pretty tame 'serious'.

anyhow, to get back to the point of the topic. It's difficult to determined what a person's trying to say in forums and the like. You have no concept of tone, no body language, and typos to boot. This just makes it easier to miss out on sarcasm, humour, blatant honesty, seriousness, etc. There's more to human communication than a jumble of words, and without these things there's more room for error. Where there's error there's misunderstanding and that just leads to people getting overly irate and taking things a little too personal.
