So if you are in here then guess what? It means either you are a staff member, or you are someone we have deemed as intelligent enough to hold a good conversation. Yeeaaa!!! (Claps)
If you haven't noticed yet the forum has degraded into very boring threads about basically nothing, or the good threads have been dumbed down with idiotic posts and unnecessary flaming. After noticing this downgrade of the forum we (Koopaking and I and for some measure Ryuuzaki) decided to have a forum for those who could actually talk about things more interesting then the latest role playing game or which of the worlds comedians we enjoy, and BEHOLD this place was created!
So I call upon all you intellects to be epistemological. Bring on the hard questions of life and death. Let us talk about everything from Astronomy to Xenophobia. Let this be the place where we can learn from each other and grow as creatures of cognitive design that we were meant to be.
"Thoughts lead on to purposes; purposes go forth in action; actions form habits; habits decide character; and character fixes our destiny."
- Tyron Edwards
"Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives"
- William A Foster

I truly hope this will be a place devoid of abbreviations for simple words such as "you" and "your".

It will. Since staff have to use proper spelling and grammar anyway, and most of the smart people of the site don't use text talk.
Lee, you're right, I hardly did ANYTHING that helped this new forum out. God I'm awesome...

Yes, yes. Greetings to all and thanks for the invitation. I wonder how people will react, seeing as though our names still pop up on the forum page when we post here. They can definitely find out who is in and who is not. After a short period of collaberating amongst themselves, we will be questioned.

Thanks for the invite Lee. I will do my best not to disappoint anyone. As far as no more text and leet speak...Thank God. I noticed this forum is relatively new and I will try to find some things that you might be able to discuss even if I don't make it more than a couple weeks.

until one of them actually figures it out. well actually in that case i'd just let em stay. Breaking into Mentality Symposium would be an admirable feat, I'd say. Unless they guessed with the dumbest of luck.

are you joking? The plebs that make up the foot soldiers don't really scare me, Im more worried about what will happen when the queen that holds their reigns decides to turn its attention to our little conclave.

Thanks for the invite guys, I guess, although I can't honestly see myself posting here a whole lot. The music board is sorta my home.
Regardless, I'll try to at least give this board a trickle of my activity.

So, as you might have seen i changed my posting style after 40 posts. Thats about when i saw the last forum down at the bottom.
So here i am. :)
This is even the main reason i've stayed and ofc, the people of this forum have some great thoughts. I shall bear this knowledge with pride.
I salute you.

Or more blood. It seems to have picked up a slight bit but... HEY I have an idea, someone MAKE A NEW THREAD PLEASE.

But that's kinda the thing Lee. We make this place out to be a standard of higher understanding, but we don't have any real guideline for what kind of topics we should post. We don't know what really would belong in here.
At least, that's where I stand.

Anything and everything is welcomed of course. As you can see we have a few topic already in a wide range, from guns to death to prostitution. This is the place where we can talk about whatever we want without the topics turning to dust from bad posts and extremely dumb responses.

Well admittedly, when I do think of a topic, it's often a toss up as to whether or not I post it here amongst those who, as lee said, won't turn topics to dust from bad posts and dumb responses or amongst the entirety of AF. Posting a topic here has a certain demand, it's a bit of a niche in a way. It's one thing to give credit to your audience, but our symposium seems to be one of the few places you can get it back, and therefore becomes the place where you want to post what you'd consider a gem. something that you don't want to see being screwed around with like your bored housewife when you get home from work early.
Point being, we need gems...and hopefully the thread I'm about to start will turn into just that.
