Any 'rock banders' out there? Just curious to see who all plays this and/or guitar hero.

Anyone play any real instruments? I dabble with the guitar on occasion

hmm, let's see. At skool i play flute *is 1st chair* lol, i also (last year) used to play percussion, and then, i'm also in chorus... But i'm not a nerd >.< from what i just wrote it sounds like it *shrugs*

I currently play the acoustic guitar with an electric plug-in but I think I'm ready to move up to a full on electric set of strings. I'm a fan of most forms of rock after all.

I don't play guitar hero. I play the violin and clarinet for school though I don't like it. I am pretty good. I have to play them in music class or I fail.

The Shamisen, as far as I know, is an instrument of Japanese origin with three strings (varying in density and material), a neck and a face, much like the shape of a guitar in some aspects.

If you're interested in the sound a typical shamisen makes, try looking up the Yoshida Brothers. They're a famous pair of shamisen players in Japan.

I play the piano ; ), I got up to grade 5 in official tests, then stopped taking the tests =P

I'm not sure what j-music is? There's a thread somewhere about it I think but I haven't checked it out.

Oh J-music just stands for japanese music, usually stuff that comes from anime openings etc.

Last band i went to see in concert was Children of Bodom they were geat live, other that i like at the moment are:

King Diamond, Dream Evil, Stratovarius. those are the guys in my playlist atm.

I haven't heard of any of them. Last concert I went to was Archenemy. Chimaira and another band opened for them. Pretty sweet show

The Pillows along with Children of Bodom are a great mix sometimes.

Another good mix is Utada Hikaru along with slipknot or Rhapsody of Fire.

Metal with J-music is awesome. :P

I have beaten all 3 Guitar Heroes on expert, and I play Rockband loads. :]

I also play the guitar and the bass.

ive been playing guitar for years now. and i play all styles and personally i just dont like guitar hero or rock band because people obsess over it so much. they play guitar hero and have little competitions over whos better. but if they would have spent that time playing real guitar the world would be filled with music instead of fat kids playing video games :)

I own Guitar Hero III, but I'm not exactly...good. I was never able to beat Lou on Hard mode.

I prefer real guitars...although I'm not very good at that either. I've played for quite a while, but my progress has been extremely slow. My own material is pretty dry and unimaginative, mostly simple chord progressions or riffs of unfinished songs.
