A french chef riding on the back a teddy bear while wielding a gun that shoots velociraptors goes back in time with his apple pie friend to save a girl from a super bad-ass team of radioavtive rubber pants.

Thats all I got...

From what I learned working on my modded map for wc3 is, when creating a playable game, whatever the Genre is make sure you plan, plan, and then plan some more. Also throw in some learning into that mix. Lol I am not the best with codeing so I went out and found myself a couple of a friends who are good at doing that. So they help me code my game, and I do the icons and tool tips for their spells. Also from some of the many posts I have read about starting a video game company or whatever, it's a highly competitive field, I mean come on, 1-1000 video games make it to the shelves in target, 10 out of thoses lucky 1's make it as great games that year, and of thoses games 1 makes it game of the century tell some other game comes and replaces it because it has better features or utilizes new technology, I have read also somewhere else, when a company starts they start out with a basic game like pong and rebuild that to super pong or w/e, and then try to sell that, after that they fund that money into the next game, most games don't just come out of the blue except if one has been working in that field for a long time, I guess if one really wants to get anywhere they need to start early as usual. : / Oh well, it isn't a field I would like to go into anymore so why should I bother?

You ask?! WHY? I tell you since you obviously took interest in making this Incredibly long post. the Fact remains that majority of Americans in the 1990's hated their job and still do, but if you get to work with say something fun or cool like game design you won't hate it you actually may end up loving your job, mine is great because its a place where I or you can fully express myself as an artist and a writer. you may have run into a lot of "dead ends" trying to get where I am, you really have to stick with it.

And never look back only remembering the the good times your life has. you may be "educated" on programming but, you lack the un-founding human understanding to see the simple reasons that is why. -In short: Game Devs. make tons of cash ($$$ try multi-millions). they also have fun at work.also we don't prodouce that many titles a year- only places like EA,VALVE, or MICROSOFT have the ability to create up to about 50 titles each, that is a lot of work mind you.

As well as why? your doubting your self when you asked it and you should ask your self for a second opinion. If you forgot I am a Game Dev. and if you want a friend or a job and possibly both let me know. Hold on to your dream NO MATTER WHAT and you should not say never . Because you may have a stress free life ahead. our lives are full of limitless possibilities always. Keep your mind open and the world will unfold a infinity of solutions and possible answers :)

I never said the job isn't fun Contrast, I am just merely stating that it is a very hard work, I guess I'm just trying to discriminate children who are like 12 years old, trying to develop the next generation 3d FPS or a huge Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. ~Laughs.~ But as you would say I'm guessing a lot of work goes in, a lot of procrastination happens, if working at home, and a lot of deadlines must be met for even a slight successful game to happen. I don't know, my dreams have not been given up on, it's just a field that I don't want to deal with as of this moment in my life. Also, as one thinks about it, like a good writer, the stories are different but the concepts and ideas are the same, nobody can copy write that, I guess in an art perspective ones "Style." to place a game on a shelf will be perceived differently then say having one be placed by a different company, I mean look we have so many WWII games, how many countless times we have stormed the beaches of normandy, or how many times we've walked in the Hot, sweaty jungles of Vietnam. They were all in the same Genre but different styles were placed, some focused on mutiplayer others not so much but the story or content. In discussion, will we eventually make a game so realistic that it will be top game for many years to come?

i've always wanted to design video games... it seems like so much fun, but i have no idea how to program stuff. the computer class im taking at school has to do with programming stuff i think. hopefully. i am only 14 so i guess i still have a lot of time left to learn how to do it...

If you really want to learn, go to your local library, and pick up a book, usually they have game-design books or game-design for dummy, learn the basic process of what goes into making a game, I mean their are several fields mixed into one, like the artists, developer, coders, all the way down to the production line. It takes many to complete one am I right contrast?

Well, there are books out there on "games" but I only know of one book and you have to buy it, you won't find it at your local library unless you live next the NYC library or something "magic". It is Entitled: Games 411 2nd Edtion, You can pick it through Amazon.com or through your dad or mom. And doing the work is not as bad most will make it out to be for Game Dev. just Try out XNA used with XP/Windows/Vista, which I hate. And It's easy to use. Just do the following:

1. own a 360 with hard drive 20GB+
2.Use a PC that supports Microsoft
3.Download Visual Studio 2005 C# (for XNA)
4.Go to Creators.XNA.com and Download XNA
5. It has a handy guide with all ways on using XNA to Create a game.
Now go and try it.

Pokemon gives me a headache, ~Laughs.~ I mean think about all of the balancing issues with Pokemon, tackle damage is so and multiply it by whatever, doing the animation of a crappy sprite, and then sending that sprite to do "damage." Having a formula and if then else statements in case an attack missed like hyper beam. I have played some wc3 pokemon RPG's, which have like hundreds of units and attacks, and spells. And has probably taken the two people designing those Pokemon RPG maps at least a year maybe more. ~Laughs.~ There are two different I guess attitudes that I have had, either go big or don't go at all, or start small and work your way up. Contrast what do you think about those two attitudes. Though threw experience don't start big if you know you're not going to accomplish your deadline. I wonder what the most simple game that is design probably tic tac toe. Even with a simple game like that, the AI is horrendous. Wargames, "The only way to win is not to play. How about a nice game of chess?" ~Laughs.~

You have to start some-where:

XNA Studio is inside of Visual Studio 2005 and VS_2005 is free and so is XNA the guide is a help icon/ menu type of thing. to use these programs however you must have Windows/Microsoft PC with a decent grapahics card (gpu)
recent to 2006-Current.

Okay Now i'm back alot of you are unsure about what comprises the game process:
1.Writers
2.Artists
3.The final part; Programmers, Graphic designers; i.e. Game Dev.s

no matter what you pick to do it will have it's fair share of bugs in the beginning, try making a simple platformer.
