1. It is Nyu-chan, back to be with them again.

Don't know which one of ya had guessed that it's Nyu/Lucy but that's the correct answer! If you did not notice that the broken clocked that Nyu was always trying to fix suddenly started when the shadow showed up at the gate, indicating her rebirth (arrival). Watch it again it's really cool to see that.

It was Nyu of course...or was it...I think it might have been the mighty cheese man...

Lucy/Nyu. Anything else could be an option but wouldn't really make sence. I thought that ending wasn't too great but looking at the manga ending....the anime is way better.
