Can't let go

Do you have any items you own, that are now old and tattered or broken or have rips or tears and everyone is telling you to just throw it away, but you find yourself wanting to keep it?

For me, I have this bag, it's a knitted shoulder back, that's alternate black and rainbow stripes with black tassels on it. I've had it for about 5 years now, and the tassels are all tatty, the lining is all ripped and it's got a hole in it. My mom wants me to throw it and get a new bag, but I love it way too much. I use it like every day and have for so long, I don't want a different bag.

Another thing my mom is nagging at me to throw away is my punky fish hoodie. It's a black hoodie with spider webs, skulls and hazard signs on it. I've had it for a few years and wear it ALL the time. I love this hoodie. It's too small for me, and has like 3 holes in it, but I don't want. I want to keep on wearing it, because it makes me happy. O:

OH! I have this bear I've had since I was about 8 years old.
I HAVE to sleep with it every night, to hug it because it's so big, smooth, and squishy. I love that thing. Her name is Rosie.

hmmm ... i still have this teddy bear since the day i was born ... and there was a matching dress with the teddy bear ... and i have a baby picture of me dressed exactly as the teddy bear ...

i also have Barney ... it cost alot wen my mom bought it for me wen i was a child so i kept it and barney was one of my first toys ...

I have a teddy bear myself, a white one that I recieved when I was sick at 2 and 1/2. I really don't even remember who gave him to me but I sleep with him everynight because he smells so good. And he is always there when I'm scared... like now.. thunderstorm. *Hugs Teddy*

well i have this dall of nala (lion king) XP i've had it since second grade...and tons of stuff like papers and small card that my friends gave me or small stuff like ribons that i keep in a box ..it kinda reminds me of old times ^^

I used to keep this bag of really small #2 pencils, probably about 3 or 2 inches long, with old and tattered grippers on 'em. But when I moved, I lost it. All of them. D:

I've got a couple shirts and sweaters that are only for use around the house so to speak. I suspect I'd be looked upon as some type of hobo if I were to wear them in public....which I have, but I try to keep them away from the elements so as to preserve them for comfy wearing time.

I still have a blanket which my Mother got me just before I was born.
I can't fall asleep without it. It's as old as I am ... over 23 years!!
Another thing that I loved very much, was my furry-tiger pencil box, which I had since Middle School... until last year.. when I accidentally lost it ;/... what a pity! :wave:

Ariya... you think 5 years is bad? My baby blanket is older than I am. Before me it belonged to my brother, before him our even older brother, before hime it belonged to my eldest sister who is 37. I'm only 18, my blanket is 37... I've sowed up a lot of rips and the silk on the edges. My sister's is split right down the middle. It's just as old as mine is.

Does my hair count? Everyone keps telling me to cut it but I don't want to. It's three feet 7 inches, it would be longer but RavynMK cut 6 inches off...

Yea I had this green/grey hoodi that I wore everywhere with me even on summer nights. The strings broke off of it that tighten the hoodie and kind of tore from there but I didnt care i still kept on whereing it.

I had a stuffed turtle that my aunt got me the day I was born. I gave it to my oldest nephew shortly after he was born 5 years ago. Other than that I have some friends I just can't seem to get rid of. And my family. They just do seem to dissapear either.....
