true it takes longer to read the manga but hey you can't have everything

A lot of the time if you want to get all the facts about a series right, you need to read the manga, because the anime just doesnt say everything that needs to be said.
And like afore mentioned, anime has pointless filler arcs. Ex. The fan/ratings killing never ending utterly pointless filler arcs in Bleach. How unfortunate. *sigh*
I mean in all seriousness, manga just has a lot that anime doesnt. Now, if the anime would follow the manga to the letter, (or very close to it) I would choose anime.
But as it is, I have to go with manga.

I favor Anime over the manga, but some mangas are better than its anime brother or spin-off , and sometimes the manga ending is better , but also the other way around , anime are coloured and thats a big + in my book , yet still on the other hand some mangas have not been made anime yet :( so I got to wait for the anime :(

it really depends on what subject is best for it. like if it was action packed then you would want anime. and if it was less action then manga. the only problem when you've got both for the same thing is that the anime skips parts in the manga. personally, i like both equally because manga you can take to school and lay on your bed and read. animes i restricted to computers and tv's.

well i generally think that manga is better than anime cause it contains the "whole" and "original" plot, but it doesn't sell itself as well as anime because many of us don't have the "imgination" required to read and "picture" the scenes in a manga.
so manga is prefered if you're a hardcore fan of the japanese arts, and anime for the regular person.

Hard question, I guess it depends on my mood at the time. When I feel to lazy to read i'll watch, and vice versa. I'm a bookworm, but also love to actually watch things in color.. sometimes the anime makes the manga funnier as well. xD

well, manga is good when you have a lot of free time, there's a blackout or just don't have cable, and you can read it any time you want,but anime lets you see more than the manga, and if you don't like to read(or don't know how to) there is the anime,but you can only see it when they show it(unless you buy it on DVD) so i would say, you're never gonna do both at the same time, so there's no need to choose!

I agree. The difference is notable, have you ever read Gantz? , it’s completely different to the anime, though it’s true sometimes it is way too much time to read, it’s just worth it.

I almost always prefer manga to anime. As previously stated, you get the facts from manga and not a year of unnecessary fillers (naruto). Also, I have always preferred reading something to watching it. It allows me to work a little bit more of my imagination I guess. I think books are better than movies in general, too. Of course, there are times when they are just as good, or at least close; and when the anime is way different from the manga, I'll usually go through both. It bugs me, though, when they start making an anime off a manga that isn't finished yet and stop it randomly without ever really resolving anything (ahem...ouran...ahem...fruits basket...ahem).

Well I like both I choose anime because of the voice and it's more lively the sound and music add some feeling that you won't have in manga sure manga have detail more info but that it's not 100% true I read a manga and watch is anime after and there is thing that i've learn that they don't mention in the manga XD But Manga Is cool because you can have it everywhere anime you need a tv or Comp(with internet) :P well I put some on my I pod but...... the sub is almost impossible to read XD More I think about it more I'm confuse :dizzy: lol well Anime !.... or manga XD

Its really hard to compare on one side anime has the ability to look a lot better visually the graphics look amazing in some animes (i.e Gantz) but animes which are converted from manga to me feel like theyv'e lost some of the colour and feel that the mangaka originaly put into the manga I guess if i had to chose between the two I would probably go with the anime 4 out of 5 times in the end moving visualls make a story seem a lot more real and enchanting

Manga without a doubt. You can read them faster, more details, it goes farther into the series and it tends to be at least 4x better than the actual Anime, and of course I can multi-task easier. However, sometimes the set up in Mangas are confusing so I get mixed up easier and other times I'm just too tired at staring at the screen and trying to figure out what the pictures are doing so generally I choose Anime even though I like Manga better. If I am completely exhausted I choose dubbed over subbed then but that's like when I'm to the point where I can't even function correctly.

Well for me it's really a matter of preference... If you prefer the stories in their manga form and are afraid that the anime won't give you the excitement you find in the manga, then stick to the manga... coz the anime sometimes tend to shift away from the manga's storyline and create a lame interpretation of the manga... on the other hand, if you prefer action and fine details then watch the anime...

But in my case any of the two is all right as long as it gives me excitement and enjoyment if I read or watch the series. But most of the time I end up reading the manga first then if an ep. is available then I'll watch it... it that way I get to know if there are any differences in the storyline and decide which is better, afterwards.

well anime have a point that if you have a suspence to hold it's hard because you can see it on the other page so.... lol on anime you can't predict what is going to happen ^^ and ! funny thing that happen are even more funnier because anime can put funny voice, color effec, and sound lol and in sad part you heard music that just want to make you cry ^^ but... I'm still a bookworm so... even with that i can't reject the manga lol

watching anime is really more relaxing. but although mangas tire your eyes, i think they're still better than anime because in manga, based on my experience, it is more detailed. yet when seeing an action story, i stick to anime because it is hard to imagine movements in manga. mind me. ::D:
