well i'm obessesive with readings and so its happened to me many times. what i do is eat ice cream and watch a sappy movie. no just joking. but i usually pick up a new series and just keep searching till i find a good book that cheers me up. if you haven't read the Sword of Truth series you should try it. its by Terry Goodkind

I don't read that much, but I do play alot of videogames and watch anime where I was sad to have finished the experience. The best thing you can do is to try writing fan fiction and continue the story the way you want to tell it or want to see.

I usually try to find something a little more uplifting to read after. even if it's just a manga or something quick and easy like that. The sad stuff may be a downer, but it can be good. Just don't read downer after downer or you'll turn into a downer yourself.

I don't think i've had quite that experiance, but i've had similar. Like when I read a book that has a really crap or random ending and don't feel like reading anymore, because I was so annoyed at the ending of the book.

hmmm booklovers depression...i hve been there many times. i find that the best cure for such an aliment has to be to keep reading until u find a new great series! The Twilight series is of course amazing, but if u want a single book with out the series Wicked Lovely is the book 4 u!

The entire Dune series.... or The Belgariad and The Malloreon by David Eddings, or one of the best books for any booklover, Wizards First Rule by Terry Goodkind

it sucked when i finished the last book of tom clancy's original jack ryan books. it would've been nice if he continued the series but he pretty much thought of every war scenario possible in all his previous books so yeah....that sucks. =[

Well, a good way I broke the depression was I just either read the same book again, or I had another book already lined up that I start to read. That is what I did when I read the Twilight series.

Hah I feel you.
Ya after reading Franny and Zooey I was in, like for real a trance, for I think a couple hours. I was thinking really hard and it hurt. But I love Salinger a lot. Are you into Salinger?? I'd really like to know bc it'd be cool to find another person who loves his stuff.
And after All Quiet I cried for about 30 minutes and slept it off.
But to feel better try hanging out with your friends and doing something active that doesnt require a lot of thinking. Like get out and listen to loud music. Go to the mall or something. But dont sit around and think about it. Try not to think about it for a couple of days, and then when your emotions have settled down and your thoughts stop swimming you can think about what you've read rationally, and then come to terms with it. Lol as you can see...i've done this many times. <3

No double posting.
As for the OP I've never suffered book lovers depression. I was only marginally sad twice that I can remember from a book.
Spoiler alert:
1. When Winston Smith had his will crushed by the party in 1984.
2. When Boxer died in Animal Farm.

Do happy things instead brooding over some sad ending.

I do hard physical labor when I get down about a book. I remember when I first read 1984, I went and chopped down a dead tree. I'm quite serious. A physical task that needs your attention is a great way to forget about the depression over the ending of a book. Yeah, reading another book is easier, but you'd be surprised at how easy it is to forget one's depression when involved in a tiring job.
