Everyone has their opinion of what` s normal and what` s not. I myself choose to be an individual instead of follow what` s been set before me. Because of my randomness and will to not blend in people think I`m a bit strange. Which I like and use to my advantage. In other words if you have a problem with my lifestyle fine but do expect things to go up a notch.

So which side would you rather be on?

Personally, I don't think there are 'norms', but rather, the world consists entirely of 'weirdos'. I mean, the whole world is different and two people might do the same thing, but it's because of their different personalities that they are considered different.

I agree with you both. Yes this world is screwwed up. As humans we feel like everythin has to have a name or place or else there is no order. We always have to find a way to put ourselves in a place where we belong and a place where we can keep what we don` t want out. This will be the cause of our destruction. But if I have to live here then I won` t be a conformist. In doing that I` d become my own enemy.

Depends on whose norm you go by. You may be considered a "weirdo" one place, and "normal" in another. You may not be as unique and random as you think. It's all a matter of relativity with these types of things.

Plus, I agree with Koopa, just because you don't fit in one place doesn't mean you won't fit in somewhere else. That being said, don't let being "normal" occupy your thoughts. That's just unhealthy.

Theres no such thing as weird or normal, only whats accepted in one part of society and whats accpeted in another. Society creates whats weird and what isn't. Its not something that is innate its man made lol.

Im a very random person and I do think Im a bit wierd. Yes I like anime and manga as do all of you, but a lot of people would choose to make fun of me on the outside. I also like playing video games, playing sports, yess shopping but not for cloths, for all the nerded stuff such as electronics and games. I dislike those, who force themselves to do everything in order to stand out, whether it's changing their looks, behavior, the way they speak, interests or even the people they socialize with, etc. It's fake. I call it "straining & hoax originality."

I would like to think I am original, but it also depends on the environment.

I think you have a good point there. I like to think of myself as being an individual, although I don't really try to stand out;I don't see the need to consciously try to do that. I wear the clothes I want to and say what I want to, it's as simple as that.
I really honestly don't care what people think of me, if I did I would have crawled into a hole and died long ago. I'm not overly social but I don't ignore other people completely either.

So my question to anyone willing to answer it is this: Define normal.

norms are considered where you are....for example in the US when you burp it is impolite in another country it is actually a compliment....so it really depends on your deifinition of norm.....furhtermore if you follow a norm arent you more of a comformist?
