One of my best friends died in iraq the other day
i was just what i should do for his family to ease the pain.
they are taking it so hard.

What you could do, is offer to do anything for them--whatever they need done like cleaning. Tell them that you're here for them.

Hey "im really sorry to hear that, all you can do for your friends family now is be there for them let them know that you care and that if there is anything you can do to help you'll do it that maybe all you can do as of now.

sorry to hear that bishop =( ... if they dont want u to do anything ... then just stay right by their side so they know that ur caring for them and trying to help them out and that ur always there for them ...
even thou its hard for them, they know that their son did his best and that he is moving on to a world with peace ...

If they won't let you physically help them, I'd say in the very least check up on them from time to time and make sure their doing well. It can be difficult losing anyone close to you, and in reality there isn't much we can do for those who've died, but it can be a chance for everyone else to grow closer if you're willing to work for it.

Just Tell them and show them that u will be there for them and help them out when they needed it..

Then they simply need space. Let the family have time to cope with this amongst themselves.

Comfort them, and tell them that they shouldn't weep for their son because he knew the risk he was taking by joining the army.
