If you were in a situation where you had to lose one of your five senses permenantly which one would you be willing to lose? In case yoiu forgot they are taste, smell, sight, touch, and hearing. Also which sense is the most important to you?(no six senses please)
I would give up taste, because I think I would be able to make up for it with other senses, and isn't terribly noticable.
I also find touch to be most important because I would probably live the hardest life without it, and is practicly a part of everything we do.

hhmmm if I had to choose which one to lose it would be smell. Of course with that a large amount of my taste but hey, I won't be complaining when someone farts, or when I walk past an open sewer.
Touch most definitely is the most important of the senses. I mean imagine if you couldn't feel anything on any part of your skin. Like that would seriously take the fun out of life if I didn't have it.

I'd have to loose smell.
Sure lots of things smell nice but more smell bad.
And i think sight is probaly the most important. Colour is like (Y)

I'd lose smell too, I mean most of the time it is only a nuisance, because they aren't too many good smelling things in the world.
The most important for me would have to be sight because I love to watch anime and play video games, and it's impossible to do unless you can see.

i would lose my sense of smell, most definatly. sure, it would be more difficult to spontaneously recall old memories because they say that the sense of smell is tied most directly to memory... but in relation to the importance of the others for every day existence, it's not such a bad thing to lose.
as for the most important, i think sight and touch are pretty important. sight would be the most important though because even if i couldn't feel hugged, or the floor on my butt, or the plate i am holding, i would be able to see those things and interpret their significance just as well as if i was touching them.

You all seem to think that is all you would lose, you would lose all sense of touch, people like this have to cheak thier body constantly to make sure no cuts get infected. I admit no pain would be nice but pain is thier to warn us something is hurting you. You could put your hand on a stove top and not relize it is on till you smell burning flesh, you could be hurt and not relize you dying till its to late.

That's kind of stubid because you can't actually lose your sense of touch whatsoever > . >
How are you gonna lose it dude? Cut your body into pieces?
And you can't permanetly lose your sense of smell either .. happens though..rarely.
The most troublesome for me would be the sense of sight ..wouldn't want to lose that, but losing your sense of hearing is bad as well..so i would go for sense of smell.

I'd lose my sense of smell. Factories are quite abundant around the area I live.

I know that the most important sense is our sight, since we use it the most and it helps us in first moment to determine the surroundings, situation, problem, danger etc.
The last sense we use to identify something is our taste.
First we see, then we hear, smell, touch and taste.
Even though. I think I would choose smell as my least "important" sense, and sight as the most important. Plus, I have an extra one.. which is my intuition ;))))

It is fairly simple your nerves don't transmit to your brain...thats it... and this is hypathetical.

I would lose my sense of smell. I could live without it.
I actually have two senses I think are the most important, sight and hearing. With good sight and good hearing there is almost nothing that will suprise you.

LOL it seems like nobody cares that they won't be able to taste food any more. Smells are amazing touch is pointless in the eyes of a fighter.

i would lose my sense of smell, but the most important is touch. If i couldnt feel if i was in trouble, i could end up losing a leg, my eyes getting to dry, thus so causing blindness, etc. It would be horrible to have no pain when you think about it. but if your in a situation where someone was going to kill you painfully, no pain sounds pretti good...

You know I've been thinking about this a lot lately. If it was me I would rather loose my sense of smell. That way i can listen to others, see beutiful things, be able to feel nice things (sex) and finally be able to hear my animes

sexy time wouldn't be as fun for sure.
and as stated, no nerves, no touch....plus paralysis, but at least you get to coast around in a wheel chair and get sweet parking.
me, I'd lose smell too. smell and taste are intertwined, but you can still taste, animex so don't worry. it's just not as super duper.
I'd keep sight, just because I'd be out of work if I went blind. that's not good for business.

Yeah it's so simple that it never actually happened before.
Sure it happens for certain parts of your body such as your leg or your hand..but it's not really possible for your whole body..
Hmm.. maybe "Vegetables" people don't feel pain? since they can't control their body ..

Soulten i was about to mention that condition!!! how dare you steal that insightful comment from me, oh well at least someone said it.
Well i don't want to lose either my taste or smell because i want to be a chef, so i will need those. Also i probably would need to be able to see, and i won't be able to hear orders if i can't hear, and touch well that is explained by Soulten. Damn i guess I'm screwed, but if it had to go down i guess hearing would be the least problematic, i mean i could at least read the paper.

I didn't take into consideration that there are 2 chocolate factories quite close to my house and without my sense of smell how in the name of cocoa could I enjoy them without my sense of smell....
I'm therefore at an impass....
plus there's a place close by that always smells like garlic bread...mmmmm
