as for a second season of claymore I think it's unlikely, I imagine the reason they started altering the story at ep20 was b/c they knew there wasn't going to be another season, but who knows, considering how recent a series it is, it's hard to tell which way it's going to go, if you're that intent on finding out more, there are several sites online that scan manga in for ppl to read much like we have anime here, check out those and start reading, I know wikipedia has a listing of where the anime and the manga differ chapter-wise and it would be easy enough to start from that point and go.
