What is the saddest anime that you saw? If you haven't seen any, please do not reply to this. the saddest I have seen so far is the show called AIR. Really sad. reply with a reason.

I agree AIR was so sad! T.T i can't watch it a second time! Dx I didn't think it was going to end like it did... D: It made me cry!! Dx And so did, Samurai X:Reflection. It.. didn't end right either!

Full Metal Alchemist, I'm glad they made the movie though, because the ending was just very, very sad. My mom's husband had to take a Nicaten pill after he finished it because he was depressed.

For me, the OVAs for Kenshin were the saddest thing I think I've ever seen. They made me cry for hours. Although the actual series is pretty lighthearted in many aspects (but the story is obviously quite serious), the prequels and sequels show a totally different side.

3. is the Samuri X movie (This one is just F***** up in so many ways)
4. is Full Moon Wo Sageshite (The cover up a sad part by giving you a happy one and that just not cool)
5. is Elfen Lied (I hated the anime for what they did but now the manga is out of control)
6. is AIR (I still don't get the ending but it was very sad)
7. is Black Cat ( But only at the beginning)
8. is xxxholic (Just the last few episodes)
9. is Chobits (The last 3 episodes)
10. is Code Geass (Season 2 episode 15)
11. is Tsubasa Chronicle (I don't remember which episode was the one of dead parents)
12. is W Wish. (Short but sad)

i really have to disagree with you about bitter virgin, i've only read 3/4 of it and it still might have a good ending. now the ending to volume 3 was really sad though. now if the ending to the entire series is sad...then it might go to number 1 but if the ending is good, then it will forever stay at number 2.
PS. i think kimi ga nozomu eien should be in the top 5 somewhere. :ramen:

I don't think the school days ending was sad at all. i mean the main character deserved it, he didn't know when to keep it in his pants. now the girls were a little on the crazy side, but i thought it was messed up more than sad.

The saddest anime for me, I don't know. Fate/Stay Night? I remember being sad watching Fafner of the Azure, too. The movie, RIGHT OF LEFT, I remembered, made me cry.
