Kingdom Hearts is great but i like Final Fantasy alot more i mean the amazing cinematics the games has is just plain aWeSoMe. Kingdom Hearts in a way is for the younger crowd...so they can enjoy the same feel of FF but with less "violence"...you know make the parents happy about the game content. Thus the reason for familiar chars from the Disney Realm such as Goofy,Donald,Mickey Mouse and so on. Although it doesn't really matter what age the gamer is it really depends on what he/she wants to look at or interact with through out the entire game.

Ive played some of the final fantasy games and some of the KH games but id have to go with FF. KH is more of a kids type game..the whole disney thing doesnt make it any mature neither or teen. Its a more of a kiddy game. You know that look when a kid see's mickey mouse on a tv screen, they light up. So FF is for more of the mature folk at the same time have good storylines and are really enjoyable. I like KH and i think the battle system is cool but FF just gets the vote.

Technically, Kingdom Hearts IS a spin-off of Final Fantasy seeing how it's made by Squaresoft, it does have a crap-load of Final Fantasy folks, and it has "Fire, Blizzaga, Thunder, Demi," even summonings. So, in a way, both are the same game.

Now let's discuss the actual characteristics of each game. Someone said that they like the KH fighting style better. You do get to run around, which makes it much easier to actually dodge an enemy. In Final Fantasy, you just have to rely on one of your stats to be high in order to dodge damage. However, Final Fantasy makes up for it by being able to set the settings up to where you can "Freeze" time while you make your choice. What this means is that when the menu to choose your next move comes up, the enemies will not attack you. In KH, not only is this not possible, but you also have the menu that you have to painstakingly go up or down WHILE you're running around and dodging, which makes it kind of awkward. But, you do get used to it fairly quickly.

I say it's an absolute tie, and my heart doesn't really belong to one or the other. I love them both as my favorite series.

Plus FF newest battle system is way better then the poor selection on KH but KH storyline is fun because I like seeing the less graphic form of squall act all badass XD

Kingdom Hearts has only spawned two games that I've actually played and enjoyed. Final Fantasy has spawned a hell of a lot of them.

Pretty much by default, simply because the FF series has waaaayyyy more good games under its belt, it wins. Besides, I don't like the KH games more than FF6, FF7, FF9, FFT, or FFTA.

Besides, the KH series is seriously lacking in the character development and general storytelling areas that FF games generally excel in.

Final Fantasy is such a more established franchise than KH, KH got most of its ideas from final fantasy and games like it. I love KH, I do, but no KH is as epic as FF7 or FF13 will be. But hopefully the next real KH, not the psp one coming out, but the next full console version of KH has the potential to be epic, I just think some of the large scale epic game design gets lost on KH because they are really trying to focus on being kid friendly.

Actually, FF is now only semi-turn-based, and a great deal of games that are not in the main series (1, 2, 3, etc.) aren't turn based either.

And the Tales series has way better action RPG combat than the KH series, honestly.

Actually the two series' are very comparable. To a rather large, but not massive, extent.

Both are indeed RPGs, though KH is more on the action side, but RPGs nonetheless. Both are made by the same company meaning they will more than likely share similar ideas and mechanics. Both historically have similar storytelling, by using cinematics.... tons of cinematics.

But in combat is where the glaring difference is. But everyone who is anyone knows the differences, so that argument is moot.

And in response to the earlier post that you cannot compare the two series'.... Put simply.... You can.
