what about anime? im not going to die quicker because i watch anime. And the thread title 'everything thats good is bad...' isnt always the case. technically, good food are vegie and other healthy crap like that. Im going to have to disagree with you here.

The whole entire good and bad thing is a matter of perception. Some say good is, lets say, good food = vegetables; while others say good is, lets say, good food = in n out hamburgers. So the the fact that you think good things are actually bad is all in your head. In life you tend to get consumed by this ideal and make descions based on this rather then trying to follow your heart. And if you really want to get down to it, good and bad are the same thing. They are two faces of one coin. Both sides are different but they are the same thing. So you can go the hippie or even the semi-hippie which talk about knowing where your food came from, what things you should eat, how you should live, or you can live to be happy. Figure it out.

I think he's refering more to typical preconceptions. right suune? you know, those guides that were made up for whatever reason by god knows who and we just adhere to them like they're second nature...sunny day=good, heroin mixed with cocain and lsd=bad. a big fat pay check=good. getting an aids test done because you were too stupid to wear a condom=bad. a fresh warm home cooked meal=good, chasing kindergarteners with a large stick and yelling obscenities=bad...that kinda thing

Hehe.. The idea for the topic gave me my older cousin who studies philosophy. He suggested that I should post this question to see how wil different persons undersatnd it.

Actually, the idea of good or bad depends on the person. What others see as a delicates, to others it seems like ordinary poison. (National Geographic, topic on poisons, refering to "Takifugu Rubripes", a kind of fish that is considered a delicates in Japan. Some parts are poisonous.)
