If you're a gamer, I'm certain that you know about E3. For years, this event has been hosted in California, mainly L.A, close to the start of the summer. This year, E3 starts off on the 14 this monday.

So what is E3 exactly? Every gaming company comes here to show off their latest games and make announcments about the company, and ever since Microsoft joined the battle, we have had some of the most intense competition in announcments alone, the Big Three Confrences. These take place late Monday at the start of the event. Nintendo usually has their event several hours after Microsoft and Sony, while their announcments are set up so that you can only pick one or the other to visit.

The next three days are devoted to playing the games, seeing the tech, and announcments from the many other companies. So where does this thread come in?

Simple. Every videogame website will upload info about the event as all reporters have access to the event. So, for the weekend, we will discuss what we hope will show up at the event. On Monday, we will discuss the announcments by the Big Three, and for the rest of the week we'll talk about the games and tech we're excited to see.

If you have G4TV, then you can see every announcment live on Monday, the games from Tuesday to Thursday, and a recapp on Friday. So, look at the time listings to see when you'll be able to watch. And this year, all of the announcments are commercial free, due to an error where they went to commercial during the Halo 3 preview last year.

If you don't have that channel, I reccommend these sites to see everything that gets uploaded, and trust me, they will pick up different things at different times, but you will be thuroughly entertained, and even get to watch videos. Even if you have access to the tv station, I do reccomend visiting these sites anyway.

These will be your best places to get info. G4tv for the big announcments, Ign for info on every console and game, and 1up to see videos and announcments from the other developers. So, get yourself ready, get tuned in, and get your game on.

On yeah. Hopefully this year will be even better than last year, which would be hard. The big confusion is what Nintendo is going to be doing. They used their big games, Metroid, Mario, and Zelda already, so a new game so soon is a bit farfetched. They did however, say several weeks ago that they would be bringing two big titles to show off at E3, and there have been a ton of rumors so far that the first game they will be showing is Animal Crossing, after considering the magizine uploads that have been seen so far. Personally I'm excited if this is true, but the just what is the next game?

Tch...I think Sony and Nintendo will be going against each other soon. Microsoft can't do much. I'm not into it than the others. Nintendo seems to be in the lead with games and Sony seems to have some of the best products when it comes to technology. That's what I think.

Sony has the most advanced tech, but Nintendo is the best developer in the whole world, with many different internal teams, and they also have the willingness to do things that most people would consider a bad idea, like the Windwaker cell shaded decision.

This e3 will be full of surprises!! I think Nintendo will show us Animal Crossing. I heard rumors that they will also show Punch Out and Kid Icarus, but I dont really think they're true.

Does anyone believe the rumors that Microsoft will be dropping the price of their 360? There have been two different ads that have said they will drop prices, but Microsoft was denying it just last week, between the showing of both ads.

I have a feeling Nintendo will be showing the next Animal Crossing. I also hope that they will finally reveal the true fate of the Metroid Dread project, Was it really cancelled?? Microsoft, I don't know what they are gonna do. Probably some new Xbox live and marketplace things, Gears of War 2, etc. As for Sony... well MGS4 has already come out. They have already released the definitive title of the PS3. Unless they intend on doing or showing something so utterly ground breaking that it defies all humanity at E3, they will stay in last place this generation. Ugh but at least nothing could be worse than Sony's E3 2006 blunder...

Lol. Sony is still sayying that they can win and win big this season though, they're going on their back up plans with Gran Turismo and Killzone, so we'll see what they can do. Personally I still expect Nintendo to be the surprise victor this E3 once again.

Nintendo always come with surprises but for some reason, I feel like Microsoft is gonna bring a surprise I won't be expecting. As far as games from Microsoft, I probably already know what they might premiere.

They'll definatly want to get people excited for Halo Wars. They may be a bit worries about Killzone but that will be countered with Gears of War 2. Since Sony is going the route of family friendly games, based on the success with the Wii, we may see Microsoft try to do the same thing.

Hmm I watched the entire Microsoft Press Conference. They kept showing off 2 Player Online Co-op in all the games. I mean, it's not like the concept of online co-op is new or anything...

And that new Xbox Avatar system is quite clearly a ripoff of the Miis.

Lol...I saw that too. Que angles in your shot to kill the enemy is awesome in Fallout 3. Also...I can't believe they changed the release date for Resident Evil 5. That got me heated up :pissed: But still, that Gears of War 2 is gonna break me down along with Fable 2. I like the Xbox 360 update too with the new Dashboard. It's awesome!!!!!!! I think Fable 2 might become the best Co-op game. I think Halo Wars suck also lol. My opinion! I just want GoW2, Fable 2, FFXIII!

Okay, the Nintendo Conference has ended. Personally i like the idea of finally having a music game, plus the new Wii Sports Resort and that updated sensor piece (I was wondering for a while if you could still use peripherals or if it will affect games already made). I also like the idea of a new Animal Crossing. However, I feel that the conference was a bit weak, and since Sony is coming in trying to off throne everyone, Nintendo will likely take a third place spot in this years E3

Personally i think Nintendo has been going from good to bad, i'm not saying that it sucks, just that its not what it use to be. Microsoft barely has any original games, most of the games are from Sony or Nintendo. But Sony is at the top right now, with great graphics and some of the best games like the GTA or MGS series, but that's just my opinion.

Okay, let's talk on both Sony and Nintendo for the time being. Sony I felt had a better conference at Nintendo, but not much better. It also seems to be the same deal every year now, hype and hype and hype with 40 moniters plus a backlight. Resistance looked okay, but the character acts like nothing happened after being picked up and thrown into the balcony of a building, and then thrown half a mile into what looked like a generator ontop of a tower. The only must haves I saw would have to be MAP, and as usual the psp still has the message of being superior without actually winning.

I think Animal Crossing City Folk will be pretty cool, at least until I get bored with it, which is exactly what happened with both previous ones. When are they going to have a Starfox on the Wii??? For crying out loud, they need Fox McCloud on a next gen platform!!! (Let's hope they omit Slippy)

The Wi-Fi Speak feature looks like a really cool idea, but I'm not sure it'll gp over well with myself specifically. I find it akward to talk to people unless I know them well. ._.;

I didn't see anything about the Clash of Ninja Ravolution 2 yet, though. I'm hoping the Sound 5 will be added as characters (And Kiba will be... re-added). And I hope they fix the broken-ness of certain characters... I actually don't play if anyone chooses Itachi on that game... and Temari is also very cheap (though to a lesser extent).

I've seen a video of CoNR2 it looks a lot better than 1.

I can't wait for Fable 2, Final Fantasy XIII, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2, and Spore. Those are all going to be REALLY good games.

Don't forget, Sqauresoft (Before it was Square Enix) used to be a Nintendo exclusive company, and then they also did Tactics games on Nintendo's handhelds, plus dragonquest/warrior, and crystal chronicals on gamecube.

True, they stuck with them exclusively for about 10 years and have made games with them for about 20. I guess they're just going to make games for all three now. It's not that bad when you really think about it, it's just surprising to see Final Fantasy and StarOcean on the Xbox 360.

Yeah...Fable 2, FFXIII, Fallout 3, Gears of War 2, and Resident Evil 5 are my top 5 games they presented on Microsoft. Though there were a few other interesting ones like The Wheelman. That game also caught my attention. I think Microsoft had the best announcement and presentation than all the other ones.
