For some reasons when I was younger I enjoyed watching Digimon more than Pokemon. It seemed to be a little bit more mature than Pokemon.

Digimon is better, I grew up watching this show, it's more mature and have better characters! I watched pokemon too and I liked it but, Digimon is better in every aspect imo.

I'll put it like this...different seasons of both shows happen to be better than one of the other seasons (ex: Digimon season 3 is better than Poke'mon season 4 to me of coarse and Poke'mon Johto League Champions is better than Digimon season 3 and 1 to me)

I prefer digimon to pokemon because I watched Digimon a ton when I was a kid. I was a major fan. I watched it all the time. Especially when I wasn't reading or playing videogames. Yeah besides Digimon always seemed more mature to me; Pokemon always seemed to be for 5 year olds in my eyes, at least back when I was a little kid.:o.o:

10 years ago pokemon came to Norway and we actually dubbed it , watched it alot ( the dub is actually good:P ) so never saw the original,
Digimon came a few years later, I enjoyed all seasons :D ( This was also Dubbed in Norwegian)This dub is of poorer quality then pokemon so it really ruineded it for me
Now its my little bro watching pokemon and thats bringing back memories :D

I'm going to say that I'm split between both. The video games for pokemon are WAY more competitive, but the anime is crap with topped with more crap. The digimon anime is by FAR better than the pokemon one. Pokemon rocked until they got to hoen, but after that I pretty muched stopped caring about the anime. I still like the games though. :D I've watched every season of digimon excluding a few eps of savers.

i completly forgot about digimon till i saw this.
they both bring something different. i use to watch pokemon, collect the cards and still play the gameboy and ds games, but it's got to be digimon. It's got a more mature nature to it and actually has a main plot.
Curse you all for bringing this, i'm wanting to watch digimon now but i need sleep. I think i've got a digimon playstation 1 game burried somewhere as well but all hope is lost of finding anything in my room once it's lost.

Video game wise, Pokemon was superior. But as far as the anime goes... Digimon is the winner. I thought many of the Digimon were much cooler than Pokemon. Digimon had a better story than Pokemon, and had some much more violent things going on in it. Digimon is better.

I think it was because of the card game pokemon had which made it last longer then digimon. And digimon had a sadistic feel to it, like that final boss they fought, that clown fool whatever his name was, was one CRAZY mofo, and pokemon just didn't have that.

I just realized that whenever they showed a talking pokemon it was either reasonably intellegent or incredibly powerful and from what i remember that rarely happened...not too sure since i seldomly watched it when Digimon started airing. IMO it was too annoying to hear a pokemon contiously say its name over and over again(I seriously thought if you put a dog in front of Ash he would understand every single "BaRk".) although the nintendo games were really fun to play. To me Digimon was revolutionary because it allowed more conversations between the chars and created alot of interesting plots. Back to my previous statement about a pokemon being able to talk letting everyone know it was unique and powerful...well in Digimon every monster could talk and had sweet abilities.

I think both of the animes are pretty lame, honestly. But back in the day, I watched Pokemon because my love of the games easily allowed me to enjoy the original couple seasons of Pokemon when I was much younger.

When it comes to which would win in a battle, I'm pretty sure that's impossible to determine since Pokemon don't exactly battle with all their might unless there's a trainer telling them what to do, not to mention that Pokemon and Digimon exist on two completely different "realities," so comparing their "abilities" is nigh impossible.

Though of course, now we have Pokemon that are capable of distorting reality itself by creating dimensional rifts (Dialga and Palkia), so...that probably beats Digimon.

I like Digimon more. Pokemon was very repetitive. It was the same objective every season while Digimon still had the 'good VS evil' idea but they changed it up each season. Also Digimon was cancelled after the fourth season but a petition was made for the creators to finish their seven season contract. And now they're on season five. I've only seen a few episodes but I plan on finishing it soon

I would not call it a program. This is an anime site, isn't everyone here supposed to hate the Pokemon "anime".

The game is all that matters (and as I play competetively, I dislike the anime further).

The Digimon games are similar to Pokemon but there's one vital difference...
The story changes! It isn't the same thing in each game! Some are fighting games, some are lifestyle and some are just plain old RPG
