School Talk. Yeah.. I know it's already summer.... and probably none of you want to think about going back to school... yet I was curious...
what do you study?
Those, who are still high-school students (or below) what are your the most (or the least) favorite subjects at school?
Those who are off the high-school... and going to continue your college education - what are your majors? How many times did you change your major? What degree did you get/ are planning to get? Maybe some of you already got some decent jobs?
Go ahead, tell us.

I suck in maths -.- Science is nice yes, but I dropped that 2 years ago already z.z
I'm still in HS, and we got 'profiles' here. So, if you want to do something with economics or culture, you can't chose science subjects. But you can other way around o_o Kinda unfair <.<;
Hmm, the subjects I like are German and CKV. CKV is ehm.. you visit cultural stuff and make reports about it xD and ye, you make things like documentaries, animations and stuff.

o.m.g. I think you are a very first person I know, who is learning Nuclear Engineering! Not to mention you are a female! ^^ This is soooo exiciting. impressing. WOW. hehe....
Yeah, I used to like math, too. Even though I am not some "genius." I like it for the simple fact my father is an architect, therefore he is a good mathematician.

Shocking, I know. My Dad is really glad I am going with Nuclear Engineering. Not because I'm following in his footsteps, but because I will have it made, pretty much. There's a demand for Nuclear Engineers right now--my Dad's company is looking at hiring 1,000 new employees--and there's an even bigger demand for females. Why? They make the company look better. They'll do anything for a female worker. My Dad told me that I could make just about as much he is in about 10 years of working, and he's been working for almost 30 years now. I'll get treated well--better than most of the male workers, I'll get promoted more often, etc. So I'm happy with my choice.

What is the average income in this profession?

Average income is based on expirence, what type of company you are working for, and--believe it or not--where you live. :/ Check this site out. http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job=Nuclear_Engineer/Salary

well, based on those statistics you showed me.... seems like, still, the best professions to make the biggest money is to work in the medicine field... gynecology, surgery, dentistry.... then law....
Haha, not to mention that the most "lucrative" occupation is a "movie star" or a "pop singer" - haha.... jk ;)

Heh, I really don't want a lot of money. Just enough to have everything I really need, nice things, and a little extra spending money, and to be treated well at my job and like what I do. I'll be happy no matter what my salary is.

Awesome:
1. Inspiring awe: an awesome sight.
2. Showing or characterized by awe.
Awe: An overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration, fear, etc., produced by that which is grand, sublime, extremely powerful.
I suggest you get yourself a dictionary next time.

Well, aside from simply writing, I may take up any sort of a job that I can get with a publisher...editing, proofreading, etc.
I'm also thinking about getting teaching credentials aside from my BFA, because I'd love to teach what I've learned.

I did want to be a vet tech but I wouldn't be able to handle animals that have been abused. My reason being is that I was watching a show a few months past. Were these animals rescuers saved these puppies. The man who owned them left them to starve to death. And the runt of the littler was lying there barely alive. They found a small pulse on the puppy so they rushed it back to the shelter and it was the vet techs that had to preform CPR on the little guy. I was crying while watching it. True it would save the pups life but I dont think I would be able to do that.

Why couldn't you make that choice, hmmm?
Well, IT is a very vast department. Could you be more specific... what do you study? Do you want to be a programmer... or maybe you learn about IT security.... database? hmmm (that's a pretty good major though).
Given where I live, it all depends on the last exams of the last year of high school and, at that time i wasn't doing my best, so i had to go with the best thing I could get with my shitty grades (and my dad's money).
I guess it is big, but again where i live its a new major, and it one that takes 5 years off your life without actually giving you a proper "name" after graduation .

Well, I started with majoring in Animal Sciences. That didn't work too well. I did great in the horse management class I took, but the intro class was brutal.
I switched to Anthropology only because I had the option of either taking Econ or Intro to Anthropology. I basically aced that intro class, so I decided to switch fully to it. Also, I didn't know before that there was a major like it. It's basically what my parents already exposed me to for years. The only class that wasn't great with it was Archaeology, but that's because the professor was supposed to have retired like 20 years ago, and no one knew. Everything was just old out of date info, except for the tests.
Since I've become more into Japan and want to focus on it, someone suggested I should change to Asian Studies and minor in Japanese. It sounds perfect, I just don't want another switch. I'll never get out of college if I do.

That's interesting! A girl who is interested in designing..... video games? :D
Actually, I've been told by my friends (who loooves to play v-games) that I should design v-games :P I was never interested in this major... I thought it would be "too difficult" to learn, too much of work plus I'm not into v-games.

Yeah it is a good school a little expesive and the classes go 24/7 so you might have classes all over teh place which is supposed to simulate real world. I'm pretty psyched it has all its acredidations and stuff so it can't be a really bad school. The program im looking at takes you from a BA to Masters in a year so it is going to be intense and I hear they are not lenient with tardyness so my Anime viewing is going to be out on hold and i wont be able to work which sucks cuz money is tight now.

I don't think I ever intended to make that my major. I've played video games since... forever and it wasn't until my freshman year of high school that I wanted to work towards that major. So look out! If I do this right I'll make a game and you'll see "SmokedBoo" in the credits. ^^

The thing is that I would like to work to make either computer programs or videogame programming >:D actually I've made various applications already and I've been working on various 3D models. Also I'm looking forward to get an internship in EA or Microsoft ::D:
