Strategy or RPG? What do you play?

I'm more of an RTS RPG kinda guy (Like Tales of Symphonia and StarOcean) But, I also like Tactics RPGs and regular RPGs. Playing Tales of Symphonia for the 3rd time, trying to get the Secondary Storyline this time.

Love all games that give a challenging AI but if it's a human that's killing me then for some reason I get really frustrated

yes theres a game like that ummm goblem wars or something
the only reason it didnt sell well is because it was called
goblem wars you basically get to choose weather you want to rpg or not
you make soildiers and you can order them to move or you can go in one command all the rest and shoot some enimies down with your bear bullets or whips or arrows

itd be nice if halo wars was like that right like mass of spartans with you leading them whats not to like?

not very many games are like that but there is Rise and Fall that lets you be a leader and build your base too

i like strategy games, rpg games don't require that much thinking and are too boring unless they're like first-person shooter. strategy games allow you to use your imagination and do all types of things, and offer almost all of the features that rpg games have. people across the world know age of empires better than they know runescape or some other rpg game.

I actually couldn't pick between the two permenantly. I tend to play one type for awhile, then switch. and so on, and so forth. I'm currently obsessed with the RPG game Phoenix Dynasty Online. I tend to go back and forth between that and Shattered Galaxy (another online game, this ones a Real Time Strategy). so i guess you could put both down for me ::D:

yeah, they are both 100% free to play. of course, you can upgrade to a membership to get certain bonuses that wouldn't otherwise be available to you. nothing that's too uber though, doesn't give an unfair advantage or anything if you know how to use what your given.

good choices man, but star wars empires at war: forces of corruption would've definitely come in second place for strategy, and i would've pick soul caliber over final fantasy in RPG. :ramen:

I just recently bought a 360, but I don't know any good rpgs for the console.. anyone have one in mind?

Normally I play shooters, rpgs, and Grand Theft Auto (I don't know what that would fall under).

As far as rpgs go the ones I liked were Final Fantasy III (for snes here in the states) or Final Fantasy IX. Oblivion was super cool too along with Knights of the Old Republic.

And on to strategy.. I play Company of Heroes and 40k Dawn of War all the time. I used to play Civ II and IV a long time ago too.
