No. My school does not call it like that. Elementary School is Grade 1-6. Junior High School is Grade 1-3. It is not 7 or 8 or 9. Senior High School is Grade 1-3 also.

:) I used to take Asian Studies for one year back in High School. My teacher was an American citizen married to a Japanese woman (who used to be his student, lol)...
He was telling us stories about when he used to teach [I believe for over 14 years] English in Japan. He said that unfortunately, even though they try to teach English at japanese schools, students have a difficult time learning it, and most of them can't speak fluently. He also said that the educational system is completely different from the one in the USA.
Well, the same story I've heard from my uncle who was visiting Japan a couple of months ago. He said, that it was hard to communicate with Japanese ppl, because most of them didn't know any English (even at the hotel).

yeah, that is something that you will certainly miss when you move to the States... I don't think we are so into this stuff.... well, I really doubt it. Japanese culture differs very much from ours.

But ppl do that all the time, regardless if it's japanese or any other language.... A lot of ppl in Europe mix english with their native language... they create even those "post-english" words or phrases.. that have nothing to with English.

Yeah, the closest "city" is Morris which only has 5,000 people. We all know each other here, and yeah, I live in the middle of nowhere. The internet, books, and the news are my best way to know what happens in the world.

Seriously though there are all kinds of studies on how the media manipulates us. If you don't believe me, google PLM complex, I assure you that the media is trying to keep us afraid here in the states because certain groups of people stand to make a lot of money that way. Bush is no different from any other dictator in the world in my eyes, he surrounds himself with yes men and tries to suppress information that doesn't fit into his view of an ideal america.

Plus the media puts images of murders and violence on the news all the time to keep us afraid. I mean they run the same stock footage over and over until it's practically ingrained in your mind.
