So anyway let's get down to the basics of the situation. Tomorrow my best friend's girlfriend is having her birthday. I've been invited but the only problem is I don't know what to get her as a gift. I need you forumites to help me pick an appropriate gift according to her personality which I will give to you. She is an indie chick I suppose, not really into physical exercise, and she is obsessed with British culture.

British culture you say? Let's go deeper! Culture? Or culture. If it's the first one, get her the dvd called "The Mighty Boosh". Now, if it's culture...hmm...I assume you live in USA? That'll make it harder to get British culture. Oh, I know! Buy her 'The View's' album. They are an indy band. As are The Kooks.

You are soooo intelligent, it shouldn't be any problem for your to get her a decent present.
How old is she going to be (that might be a very important clue and factor) ??

Monsoon is actually asking us for help? End of the world alert! Alright, all joking aside, I would say, get her a stupid vampire book that she doesn't have, get her any of the things that Lee listed, or, do what I do, and just get her a birthday card and forget about the gift.

lol, you are the master ^^.... hehe

I think monsoon already knows he needs to get her a book.
Unless he is more than just a "friend." Then flowers, jewelry, and perfumes are greatly welcomed, haha.

Honestly, I always ask for practical stuff, like .... a software I need, or the last time someone gave a tablet..

Seriously giving flowers and perfumes to your friend's girlfriend doesn't seem like such a good idea, considering I don't think my friend would be very fond of the idea that I'm also with his girlfriend. *I'm not with her.*

Also monsoon isn't a big fan of hugging Koopa.

I've never heard more ridiculous joke.... lol
Actually most of the ppl I have seen reading manga in Barnes and Noble were tall and thin "gothic" looking guys with long hair in black long coats.... or emo kids.... or guys with greasy hair in their late 30's... lol xD

I kind of felt the opposite way.... I thought I was actually secretly observed by you!!!! Not to mention you always take my favorite spot... hey! that comfy chair is mine! Leave it alone! lol....

I actually the manga and read it on my own time, reading in the store is soooo cheating. Now that I think about it, all the people I see getting manga there are indeed emo or goth or something... I must stand out while looking at manga because I think I'm quite plain looking compared to them.

Sometimes it's almost embarrassing when younger kids.. stare at me w/ the expression "did you get lost?" just because I look at manga... hehe :dead:
I think people misunderstood the meaning of "goth" and "Gothic"...
