So who's everyones favorite megalomaniac? Mine would be Hitler. This bastard was one crrraazzzyyy mofo. I believe he took over more land then Alexander and Charlemagne. Of course I give a lot of credit to the meth he was taking, but the people followed him not the drug.

I think I'd have to go with Demon Fox, the power hungry tyrant himself. His lust for wealth and power is unlike anyone before. He will soon own the internet.

If you can't cast a self vote. I'm going to go with Stalin, it's difficult keeping a communist superpower.

Mussolini was a pawn of Hitler, not even worth being called a megalomaniac.

Are you kidding me? America helped them, no what helped Stalin win was the harsh Russian winter.

Thats the commonly known fact. What America didn't want known for awhile after the war (Cold War), was the fact that Russia would have fallen had not the Americans sent Russia equipments and supplies. I'm sure you know the impact capitalism in America and how it lead to the defeat of the Third Reich. Stalin almost lost it but the battle of Kursk and Stalingrad was where American help was and those two battles were what really stopped the Nazi's. Sure winter would have ultimately stopped them, but common!! Hitler knew of 'General Winter' due to Napoleon. They were going to take out the capital and the major forces of Russia before winter could get a good grasp on the western part of the country. Strategist?? HA!!! Yea that's why he allied himself with Hitler at the beginning. It was because he was such a brilliant leader that over 6 million Russians died trying to stop the nazis before the Americans helped. Yea he did a good job.

Right, because stopping an invading military power that controlled almost all of continental Europe was so easy with a recently formed novice army.

They couldn't stop the Blitzkrieg. You know that was Hitlers best weapon and he used it like crazy. And Stalin did try to stop the Nazi by throwing over 6 million people at it. If you ask me thats a very large amount of people to stop one race. And it failed. Miserably. Until the good old US helped out. Stalin = pathetic.

Russia won because of its counter attack, same reason Russia beat Napoleon. The United States barely did anything in WW2, just like in WW1. I mean look at the casualties in the war and notice how many were American. In fact if you notice it was at the moment that Russia manned its counterattack that Germany kept suffering defeat after defeat.

The winter made his best weapon useless.

Bullshit. Stalin beat all the allies to Berlin by like a week. You don't see an american flag flying over the Reichstag.

Oh and btw you guys are grossly misusing the term megalomaniac. Every conqueror is not a megalomaniac.

Yeah, look at Cyrus of Persia, he was called the "Law Giver" and he liberated imprisoned Jews in Babylon. He basically just let his people live their lives how they wanted to, he didn't make them change religion, and he even let established governors keep power as long as they swore loyalty to Persia.

I never said who's your favorite conqueror, I asked who was your favorite megalomaniac and why. It just happens that mine was Hitler, other people choose who they liked as well.
