It's a cutthroat, dog-eat-dog world in the realm of jobs and business. You need to be crafty, relentless, and always on guard. No one will hesitate to screw you over, and you need not hesitate to ruin anyone else. Every worker for themselves. Your coworkers are all evil, blood sucking leeches, and if they attempt to get close to you they are only doing so to take your money. Avoid any unnecessary interactions with anyone. Do not speak unless spoken to. Do not go out of your way to help anyone. Be ready to blackmail to get promotions whenever necessary. Don't suck up to the boss, it will make him hate you more. Instead be antisocial with everyone, and show no emotion. Executives recognize this as a skill of a higher up and you will be on top in no time.

Make sure you ask plenty of questios, but don't ask too many, be notable but not noticeable, don't be too quiet but try not to speak, do everything right the first time and I'm sure you'll do great :)

Be sure you can transition from doing one part, then doing another part.
For example, I work at Subway and people always want their subs toasted. Then someone askes they want their subs microwaved. Make sure you can tell the differance between those toasted and microwaved. You dont want to get fired. =)
And try to be friendly on your first day, and each day gets easier and easier. =]

Listen listen liste, then you 'do'. The thing about jobs is that all your doing is copying someone doing something. If your good at copying then you'll be fine.

No offence, but I have a different opinon on how people should react. At least in certain jobs such as jobs that require team efferts or coworkers to interact closley on a day to day basis; When getting close to a nother employee may acually help you gain more money and get a promotion as well. I am saying this because through working retail jobs, I have found that being friendly is the best route to go. By getting to know other coworkers they are more likey to ask you if you would fill in for them(more hours=money). And if it is a team invironment, coworkers need to work together and communicate to get jobs done.

You'd be surprised how easy it is to stick an syringe full of air into your body when you're not looking.

Yea working your first job can always be nervrecking, but dont worry about it and stick with it. Everyone that comes to a job that they have never done before is nervous and dont really know what to do. ITs natural, everyone goes thru that phase. If you dont know something just ask. Make mistakes in training that way you wont make the same mistake when you are working on the floor. In time, you will be seeing a new person just like you comming in to his/her first job and you will think back was I really that stressful looking

Lets see.. my first job was being the mascot of ChuckE.Cheese.. i was ChuckE. for like 8 months.. i even had people request me to get out of school earlier so i can perform for their childrens' birthday! lol.. then i got tired of it and they put me in the kitchen and i stayed there for about 3 1/2 yrs.. i became the kitchen team leader and trainer and was working myself up to opening cordinator, then i was offered more money where am at now.. and am still here going on a year.. jobs are simple.. the only thing is you have to like what you do or really really love your paychecks!

Blackmail is the only way to go, show others this really nice outside of you but at times show them you can be ruthless, make all those below or equal to you either be afraid of you or greatly respect you.

You know what? That's actually the best way to climb up any corporate ladder, to scheme, lie, blackmail and be all around ruthless on the inside, while acting like a good lovable person on the outside.

Or you know, you could be good at your job for a change.
