Since most of you may know by now that I'm crazy about Legend of Dragoon, you'll see that my avatar is now Rose. Looking for this picture, I ran into this thread site.
http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=psxgeneral&message.id=77345&page=4
Which of course, since I made this thread, is asking for a Legend of Dragoon sequal. And you know what? This game does need a sequel! So everybody, what game needs a freaking sequel? What game has gone un-noticed for too long and needs a revival, or is there a game so wonderful that it makes you wonder just why there hasn't been another game in the series?

Legend of Dragoon? Essentially there are 300 species of creatures that were created from a great tree, far before the game takes place. Currently several species are near extinction, including Dragons, Giants (Giganto), and humans were almost extinct multiple times. Every race was opressed by a species called Winglies, and so to counter them humans made a pact with dragons to gain their powers and start a large war.
In the current time of the game, the main hero comes to his hometown to find that his childhood friend is captured, and everything leads back to the story of the great war and the leader of the Winglies who comes back to destroy the planet.

I'd rather it not be on ps3. Back to what the thread is about, what game needs a sequel!

Well i dont really think it needs another one because the first one was enuff. It story was well said and was amazing so i dont think there needs to be more added on to the series. But i would not mind if they remade it for the ps3 graphics and capabilities.

hmm, that's a tough one. Most of the games I own have sequels to them, I just haven't played a lot of them. I recall playing LOD a ways back when it came out, and I'd probly play a sequel if it managed to find it's way to a platform. Though it's probably too far gone now to keep my hopes up about it. I think it may remain in the realm of cult classicdom.
that may be good though, because a lot of games and such that are given sequels at later dates just to satisfy fan demand are usually lacking, or they're divergeances from the original to the point that it doesn't seem like it fits the series.

Okay... Well, what about Chrono Trigger? It's had one sequel, but it's not considered a true sequel to the game.

Yea, I think square is stupid for not making one. Just stop remaking crap and give us what we want.

You say this game needs a sequel, wouldn't it be more accurate to say that the sequel needs to be finished, as there was already one in production and far enough along that they had pictures out on the web that looked like they were from potential cutscenes, I don't know how far into production it was exactly, but I imagine the storyline was almost done completely or they wouldn't have bothered w/ pics, and there have been petitions in the past for this game, I think part of the problem is that they are all spread out, we need one massive list for all the people interested in this game not 12 small lists which is what happened I think. Maybe then Sony would reconsider finishing production on it

Legend of Dragoon, there was one in concept/production called LoD2, I remember the pics online and I think in some mags too, it was quite a while back, it was supposed to be a PS2 title

Man, considering how amazing the game looked on the ps1, It would probably be on a graphical style on par with Final Fantasy X.

I'd say chrono cross is fully a sequel. Despite a slight deviation in the name, the premise and past of chrono trigger are still there. It just dealt more with dimentional gaps rather than time travel. The CT characters are brought back (in a sense) and Lavos is still there. Full frontal sequel in my opinion.
you know what could be done awesome in this new day and age is a sequel or revamped version of Rampage. You were a giant monster, like king kong or godzilla or whatever and you just destroyed cities. That'd be fun as hell revved up for 360 or ps3. it'd be like cloverfield!

Actually they still do make rampage games, but they haven't gotten alot of good press. What about King of Monsters?

I just thought of a game that may not need a sequel, but had games that give me alot of fond memories. On the ps1 were two titles of the Megaman series. In fact, this is the third series that Megaman was introduced to, the second being Megaman X, the fourth being Battle Network. And this third series, is Megaman Legends.
It's the only game series that truely branched out. You had to find and earn your own weapons and could only carry one on you at a time. It was full free movement and had a much more fledged out storyline and plot. The weapons, your buster gun included, had to be upgraded instead of charged up to be stronger. And the second, just left me wanting more. This game even had one spin-off title, The Mis-Adventures of Tron Bonne, based on the family of the main antagonist in the original game.

Just to let you know, the Battle Network Series is over and had an Official Ending. The first Megaman Series to ever be Officially ENDED! Also, Megaman Legends NEEDS a Sequel. I hate it that it ended at a cliffhanger and not over 5 years later there's still not a sequel. I will be pretty cool to see it have revamped graphics though.

Third Game, the second had a cliffhanger which was really annoying. A few times they said that they were working on a third, but they stopped. Now there's a developer that wants to work on the third, but he's being made to help make other games first.

Okay, I'll choose another game.
Tomba. This was a game that stuck to the idea of 2-D Platforming Like Klonoa. Unlike Klonoa, Tomba mixed it's platforming with a fighting aspect, and doubled this with quests throughout different places. It has had one sequel, and both games were created on the Ps1. The second game expanded the world by having a 3-d map to it's 2d platforming, meaning you could run forward, then turn direction at an intersection and play in what appears to be just a background at first. It also allowed for full 3-D moment in city hub locations.
