Anima is right, you could file charges against that kid (or rather his parents since he's probably still underage).

Finally I said something that is agreeable!!!
it's just that dogs still have life and we can't really leave that kid without "proper" punishment.....the parents are responsible for not teaching their retard child some nice traits.....oh oh I suggest approaching some animal welfare society in you place. We have one here so I think you should have one at your place.....they'll help you out.

Hey man that sucks to here. i remember some guys threw a brick at my dog. i ended up being the crap out of them, which is never a good idea because no one wins like that. Well anyway back to the point . i agree with the rest of them and get the parents to pay, but you also have to tell the parents to teach their kid that throwing anything at anyone is a horrible thing to do.

I only wish ill to those who who harm someone or something. I take being vicious a complement...Your right that he's a small child and may not know, but he still hurt this animal. This kid should have known, even if hes only 7 years old, that he shouldn't harm an animal or another human being.

I'm kind of with Ryu on this, but that's just b/c I have a vicious streak that I try not to let of it's leash to often, although if a neighbor did anything to my dog, they would rue the day, obviously some allowances would be made for ignorance, although there still might be a slap involved, but I've had ppl yell and curse at my dog and I've knocked them in the head w/ tennis balls b/c they were being rude and annoying, I can't imagine what would happen if someone actually caused grievous bodily harm to my dog, I think I would go nuts, and if my dog died, so would they, I love my dog, he's family, my neighbors, I'm not sure if I even like them

I see your reasoning to be cruel but you can't weigh lives or actions. if someone does something bad make them atone, not strike them. hate only spreads more hate. instead of beatings talk to them. maybe I'm just a little too soft since my little cousin gets in trouble all the time, and i usually fix it for him.

I should have this printed on a t-shirt or something, you said it.
but reading all this, at first I thought you were talking about like a 5 year old or younger, a kid that doesn't fully understand what killing something means, but an 18 year old? that's like those sick f**ks that shoot at stray cats because they think it's fun.
There's not much point in beating the crap out of him, you'll end up in the same spot with sore hands. But what you should do, is tell him he's fronting the vet bill, and any other money your out because of what HE did. Hell, confront his parents about it too, and they'll lay into him as well I'm sure. At that age, his parents are void of responsibility, but they can be a persuasive force for you. My condolences.

I think I told this story before in the chatbox. At my old house, in the woods across the street there was this little cabin house. The guy that owned it only showed up there about twice a month and he would stay there over the weekend to hunt. The woods were actually his sister's property, who had a house up by the road, and the cabin was illegally built, it had no electricity, water, etc. So we had some dogs, and they used to wander all around the woods. One day this guy shows up knocking at our door. He says our dogs were over at his cabin digging through his trash and he didn't like that. We need to keep our dogs tied up or something, or I will deal with them, he says. So we say whatever and he leaves.
So one day about a month later, the guy comes back to hunt. And it so happens that weekend our dogs turn up missing. One of them comes back, and he has an injured foot and he is sick with something, and he ends up dying later that week. We never see the other dog again. So we all think the cabin man did something to the dogs, it seemed like the dog that came back had been fed something nasty. And the dog that didn't come back, we had had him for years, and he was a good dog. Well my step brother decided to go "check out" the cabin and see if he can find our dog over there. He comes back saying, "Hey he didn't even have a good lock on the door, come check this out!"
So we go down there and I see that what my step brother meant by "check out" the cabin was "break into" the cabin. His justification was that he was mean to our dogs so we would be mean to him. So we went inside and went through all his stuff in there. We found some.... interesting things... THERE WAS AN ENTIRE CHEST FULL OF PORN. We also got two pellet rifles, and some miscellaneous crap. And then we broke all of his windows with the pellet guns. And we wrecked his place. We ended up having so many porno magazines we had no idea what to do with them so we ended up selling a lot of to some kids, and stuffing some into other people's mailboxes in a nearby subdivision.
So yeah that's my tale.

This seems pretty illogical. I'd rather go with the guy didn't like the dog, didn't have any emotional attachment to you or the dog. Put the cans in his food probably because the dog has bothered him in the past or something *going on a limb*. And killed the dog thinking he would get away with it and minimally improve his style of life.

I stand by my reasoning, and it is held up by the instances of mentally disturbed children harassing, butchering, and killing small animals, psychiatrists claim it's the sign of a weak mind or someone who was bullied and such nonsense, but personally I think some ppl are just born w/ the ability to find immense gratification in someone or something else's pain, and once they realize the joy they feel from it, they go out of their way to do things that others would consider cruel and despicable, in my opinion a lot of the ppl that do that though are the ones who don't have the mental fortitude to actually stand up to someone and fight back verbally or physically w/o some kind of overwhelming advantage, and then again, some of them seem to become serial killers

I don't know, maybe it's not so much the pain that excites you as the adrenaline and endorphin rush you get from the pain and the situation surrounding it, you could just be an adrenaline junkie, and getting into random fights would certainly help to fill that need, it's a bit odd but not really that bad compared to the potential problems w/ being addicted to pain
partyprobe

Corwin
06-12-2008, 05:31 AM
then like I said you might just like the chemical rush that comes into play during a fight or an emotionally charged situation, it's not unnatural, although in this day and age it is considered somewhat odd, it could also be that you relish in proving that you're the stronger fighter or that you can take anything someone else can dish out, once again, not unnatural, just unusual in this day and age

it's not that bad, you still see that kind of thing in a lot of professional athletes and not just the fighters, I wouldn't call it barbaric exactly, it's just an outgrowth of the survival instinct and the social requirement of soldiers to defend the people, no doubt there is a fair sized group of people out there who evolution has programmed with such responses so that they can more easily go into battle to preserve the species

It would be hard for me to punish the parents for somthing that the kid did, and it would be even harder for me to just let the issue go unresolved.

No 'animal' deserves to ever be hurt. I say I would glady take on the world's pain no matter how destructive it is as long as pain doesn't exist to anyone else unless they deserve it. (especially that kid.) How old is this kid?

No, that's a little extreme. Commit arson if he points AND laughs.
