The anime leans on slight (or more) fan-service and comedy. I think it is good. I hope there is a season two where Tsukune is the one who is going to kick ass, instead of Moka.

I love the manga, the anime isn't bad, but the story is slightly butchered so to speak, mainly trimmed down. Season one of the anime doesn't go nearly as far as season one of the manga, but then again when do manga and animes coincide with their time lines?

Both are worth checking out, but I'd check out the manga before the anime.
