Slice of Life anime focus on depicting Normal/Real Life situations. With no magical things, no badass techniques, no fighting. Most animes that is in this category tend to be focus on drama, romance, comedy and sports
Ill search for some good ones.....

well there aren't many slice of life shonen animes because most shonen anime go on and on and on and on with hundreds of episodes, the average slice of life anime is like 13 episodes.

They tend to be more in the comedy, romance, and drama genres. Some slice of life animes are:
Lucky Star
Azumanga Daioh
School Days
Myself;Yourself
(a LOT of them are about school)

5 Centimeters per Second isn't slice of life, no clue you guys suggested it. It's not even a series, it's a movie. Also it takes place over several years. Great movie though. "Slice of Life" means the events during the anime are a "slice" of that person's life. So if the anime covers a long period of time, like several years, then no it is not slice of life.

Its probably not shonen but Honey and Clover was really good and its enjoyable for guys to watch as well...

Genshiken is definitely a must and has been listed in this thread heaps already...

5 Centimeters Per Second isn't really slice of life as mentioned but I think its in the range of what you would consider slice of life in loose terms...

When someone says slice of life I tend to think of serious animes that aren't outrageous with aliens, witchcraft and cyberpunk stuff but having more contemporary storylines, characters etc...

Hrm... it could be seen as 3 slices of Takuki and Akari's lives i guess...

Most people mentioned were more similar to shoujo.
Life shoune is like sport anime/manga. I suggest Prince of Tennis.

I think BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad is the only slice of life shonen I've ever seen. And it's really only shonen because rock music is more masculine than feminine and the main character is a guy.

But regardless, it's really good. The animation isn't particularly amazing but everything else about it is great. The dub is better, strangely enough.
