AF Pig Roast/Gathering

Ok to start off me a few others were talking about having a Pig Roast/Gathering. First off we need you guys/girls feedbacks. Like where the gathering should be and when it is. We know that we are all busy with work, school, and some other stuff. Also we know that haft of the AF members are young and living on the other side of the world. So thats why we need your opinion on this so we can figure out what to do.

well I'm out of school in two weeks and am younger I'm in the denver area in Colorado. next month is basicly fine for me except on the 24th and another day which I will get back to you guys on then the next month I wont have a way to get there from the 14 to the 21st unless I get a ride from someone and I'm trying to get a summer job which might make the times harder. but other then that it sounds like fun.

I would love to do this, but, my parents aren't too happy with me meeting my online friends. They barely let me meet my husband--yes, we did meet online. I will have to see about it. Wait until school is out.

As much as this neko would love to come out and see all of you; I know for a fact my Mother nor my sister has time to drive across the states. Not to mention me meeting my friends from online. still, it sounds like an awesome idea...what if you guys turned it into an annual event, and every year you do it in a different location? kind of like a mini convention of sorts XD

This really is a rather ambitious, if not rather impractical idea. Interesting, yes, but I don't think i'll be attending. Unless of course you wanna have it here in Bethlehem, PA (I just dont have the money to spend flying or driving across the country)... Still if it happens I would love to see some pics. I wish you luck with this ambitious venture!

I think the best way for people from the site to meet up would be at one of the big anime conventions around the country. People from all over already gather to come to these, so why not at the next big convention the people of Anime Fuel set up a place in the con to meet and they can all go to the convention together! I plan on attending a big convention in September, AWA(Anime Weekend Atlanta). If anyone else is going, when it comes closer to the con we can plan somewhere in the convention center to go and I would be more than happy to hang out with anyone from AF since I am already at the convention.

You know what Koop? That idea isn't that bad at all. There's no reason why we shouldn't be able to combine the two. It would probably help greatly if we booked it as a group thing/trip. We'd qualify for group discounts on room rates and we could either get a dining room for a dinner or have a good old fashioned BBQ at a nearby park. It would also most likely be beneficial to those who might be wary of meeting other people whom they have met online because it is a large public event with plenty of security. Travel arrangements would also probably be easier, cheaper, and more convenient too. Sounds like a good idea about combining the two events. An anime convention and an A.F. BBQ/get together. More feedback.

well, in denver we have NDK on sept. 12-14th, people around that area could meet. I am not sure who would want to travel a long way just for that little thing though.
