Storms
It ends the same for everyone it seems
with a broken heart, unopened wings.
For everyone it turns out the same.
There's the ones we love and the ones we blame.
The weather's nice but you're so cold,
and the everyday patterns start to get old.
You can't get past it, and you don't know why
the sun insists to shine.
When you're standing in a snowstorm thinking,
about all of the things that have happened now,
and you don't know why or how.
When you're standing in a rainstorm asking.
To be forgiven for all that's happened now,
cause you know it's your fault somehow.
When you're standing in a thunderstorm crying,
cause you hate being reminded of it now,
you can't take the familiar sounds.
So when you're standing outside looking,
at the storm above your head now,
try to look through the clouds.
Everybody's crossed the line,
between what's wrong and between what's fine.
Everybody's made mistakes,
that they wish they could throw away.
And the weather's nice but you're still cold,
you need in with the new and out with the old.
You can't understand it, and you don't know why,
you can still see the sun shine.
When you're standing in a snowstorm thinking,
about all of the things that have happened now,
and you don't know why or how.
When you're standing in a rainstorm asking.
To be forgiven for all that's happened now,
cause you know it's your fault somehow.
When you're standing in a thunderstorm crying,
cause you hate being reminded of it now,
you can't take the familiar sounds.
So when you're standing outside looking,
at the storm above your head now,
try to look through the clouds.
Try to stop your tears of mourn,
cause this is only your storm.
No one else can feel your pain,
that's shown through the falling rain,
of your storm.
Cause this is only your storm
this is only your storm.
You're the reason these clouds take form
So when you're standing in a snowstorm thinking,
about all of the things that have happened now,
and you don't know why or how.
When you're standing in a rainstorm asking.
To be forgiven for all that's happened now,
cause you know it's your fault somehow.
When you're standing in a thunderstorm crying,
cause you hate being reminded of it now,
you can't take the familiar sounds.
So when you're standing outside looking,
at the storm above your head now,
try to look through the clouds.

Concentric Hearts
She said we're much too different...
We're from two separate worlds...
And he admitted, she was partly right.
But in his heart's defense he told her
What they had in common...
Was strong enough to bond them for life.
He said look behind your own soul
And the person that you'll see....
Just might remind you of me....
I laugh. I love. I hope. I try.
I hurt. I need. I fear. I cry...
And I know you do the same things too...
So we're really not that different...
Me and you.
Now she could hardly argue
With his pure and simple logic
But logic never could convince the heart.
She had always dreamed of loving
Someone more exotic
And he just didn't seem to fit the part.
So she searched for greener pastures,
But never could forget
what he whispered when she left...
I laugh. I love. I hope. I try.
I hurt. I need. I fear. I cry...
And I know you do the same things too...
So we're really not that different....
Me and you.
Was it time?
Was it truth?
Maybe both led her back to his door
And as her tears fell at his feet...
She didn't say "I love you"
What she said meant even more...
I laugh. I love. I hope. I try.
I hurt. I need. I fear. I cry...
And I know you do the same things too...
So we're really not that different...
Me and you.
