How much roughly to mangakas earn? I read when you start out you get about, 10, 000 Yen, per page, which is about... £50 or $100. And depending on how often your magazine publishes, how many pages you gotta do. Shonen Jump does weekly I believe, which is about... 120 pages? Whereas like Ribbon does monthly, which is about 30. Anybody have any more ideas on salary? And could you please say, like under what companies, how often they publish and such. Cheers. ::D:

At the moment I'm only sure about when SJ comes out. They have a few different magazines I believe:
1) Weekly SJ which I think is weekly in Japan (monthly in the U.S not sure about other countries)
2) Shonen Sunday which comes out on Sunday
3) And I believe Monthly Shonen which comes out monthly.

Each magazine with a few hundred pages. So if they do get, lets say $100, for each page of their manga, in SJ alone they are getting a few thousand. For the volumes they'll be getting more depending on the series. For instance Masashi Kishimoto (the author of Naruto) will be getting a fair amount of money since his book series.
