Manga or Anime?

I couldn't see this here, but which is better in your opinion, manga or anime? State your reasons why. I've never been able to decide myself.

If this has been posted before, please close this thread for me, I'm new and don't have a clue how to. =]

Anime: Because I can be doing other things while "watching" it and get more done the only bad thing is it goes slow in some shows.

Manga: Because for the slower series like Naruto (slow for me anyway in anime form) I can zip through it while still liking it while I'm reading but I can't be doing anything else.
So yeah, they both have their ups and downs, so yeah it's really hard to decide on one or the other. ^^

I like anime more cuz I like the animation and the cinematics, but I gotta give props to the mangas for being source material for most anime and I always have a manga handy to keep me occupied during school and car trips!

Personally I like manga more b/c generally they explain more in the manga than in the anime series also the series sometimes don't go as far as the manga so I have to read the manga to finish the storyline anyways, also, I carry manga wherever I go, a couple volumes have next to no weight and can last a number of hours depending on the particular manga, I love watching the anime too, but sometimes the translation from manga to anime does not do a series justice, just like when books are translated into movies or tv shows, and you are always going to have proponents on both sides of the issue b/c some are willing to read and some aren't, but imo manga hands down, of course not every anime is available in a manga format so I will always check out both formats

Anime. I don't know why, I just can't get into manga. I like the energy thrown into anime. It's not that I don't like reading, either. I can read novels just fine.

I'm torn between both of them. Like most have mentioned i like the manga because of the information factor. But I like anime as well only cause the fight scenes are wwwaaaayyyyy better animated.

I love manga for all the reasons above and, I love the art of a good manga. b/c they dont have to animate X000 frames they can put so much more emotion into each panel. obviously this doesn't happen all the time, but when it does... the other thing about a manga is I can pick it up, read one page, go do something else I need to and come back. you have to have ~25 minutes to watch a whole episode of anime, or try to scroll through and remember exactly where you left off, etc. but I do still love anime

im torn personaly they each have things that i love and things that i just like (I dont really hate anything in either). i like mangas cuz there longer mostly, like coewin said they explain more, and as crymson said they have more feeling in each panel, Anime's because i love seeing the char come to life on the screen and hear them talk it really brings it full circle for me i read manga to watch an anime to then read more manga.

I don't really like how mangas book opens from right to left, it bugs me alot.
I do like manga, just not as much as anime.

well i like anime more simply b\c it's more lively ...you now the characters become live in the anime they have voices they have actions and reactions and not to metion the cool ending and begining themes wich are great and of course the sound effects through out the anime ..they simply become alive to me ..but i gotta hand it to the manga for being the source of anime and true sometimes it has more details but to me anime is the best^^

I can't decide too, the drawings are sooo beautiful, but the animes with voice and + drawings are good too. they both entertain me ^^

I admit my collection of manga is much more massive than of anime, but! I liek anime more because you can just sit down and relax and put no effort into it.
