The Clone

Riiion opened his eyes and found that the wrists and his ankles with dark, gray, small chains bound him. He looked up and was looking at himself. It wasn’t a mirror he was looking at; it was a duplicate of him…a clone! The clone was silent and stared back with glossy, brown eyes. He wore a black choker with a silver cross dangling from the clasp. The clone only had on black cargo pants and a girl with long, pink hair held onto his arm. She had on a lavender, silky dress and had bare feet poking out from the bottom of the hem. The girl looked over at Riion and smiled gleefully as she placed her head on the boy’s shoulders.

“Who are you?” Riion asked.

They did not reply. Just then, Fin entered the room and walked to the clone; she too was smiling evilly. The clone continued to stare at Riion. Riion looked up at Fin with a puzzled look upon hi pale face.

“Don’t you recognize him? He’s you. Only better.”

“What are you going to do?”

“I’m going to do nothing. He’s going to do my work for me. Once he kisses that girl, she’ll turn back into a demon and she’ll be under my control.”

“No, you can’t do this!” Riion exclaimed.

“Oh, but I can because I know she’ll betray your trust. I’ve seen it with my own eyes.”

“No, you’re wrong! She loves me!”

Fin just looked at Riion. The girl with the pink hair giggled then licked the side of the clone’s face. The boy did nothing to show affection in return. Fin kneeled down to whisper in his ear and he nodded. He got up from the cold floor, letter the girl fall to her hands and knees. The boy stared briefly at Riiion then walked out of the door. Fin followed him without a word, leaving Riion with the girl behind.

Betrayal

Saki kneeled in the cold water to cover herself as she stared back at Nite. Nite came out from behind the blue spruce tree and started to walk toward where Saki was kneeling. The wind whistled in the trees. Birds were kept quiet as no one said anything. Saki crawled backwards on her knees in the water

What should I do? Saki questioned herself.

Nite was at the edge of the water now, still in his white, elegant tux. He took off his white, leather shoes and cotton socks and placed them on the wavering, light, green grass. They stared intently at one another as Saki’s eyes began to fade into a pure majestic blue; her mouth slowly dropped. A little bit of her soul slipped out into an airy snake-like form and slithered toward Nite. Nite sucked in the soul and his eyes glowed a crimson red. He walked into the water and reached the lifeless body.
Riion’s clone watched from high up in the trees from where Nite first stood. He did nothing to stop them. Nite, then, took his chance and leaned in to kiss Saki’s cold lips. Fin stopped following the clone and stared blankly at them. She wanted to scream, but blood spurted from her mouth when she coughed.
Nite stopped kissed Saki and the shine in her eyes returned, along with her soul. She grasped for air and gasped with fear. Her fingertips lightly touched her lips; remembering this same feeling from when Riion had kissed her from before.

Does my heart also long for this man? Saki pondered.

Fin whistled for Riion to come down and he obeyed. There was nothing they could do for now. Saki slapped Nite in the face. She felt that her heart was corrupted and filled with shame and guilt.

What should I do now? Saki asked herself again. Had Fin warned me about this?

Saki placed the belts back on once Nite had left. She fastened them tightly one by one and once again, took flight. Saki head back west and went home for the night.

I will save you, Riion, but how?
