So what are your favourite soundtracks for games/anime?
I would say that mine are Tales of Symphonia and the .Hack// animes.
Can any one recomend a good soundtack? :D

The music from Lunar : Eternal Blue is very well done and one fo the few vocal tracks in games where the english version is better than the japanese one.

As for animes?

Scrapped Princess
Naruto (the very first one)
There are others but in all honesty only the opening\endings appealed to me so no point listing them as OST's. =P

The 2 OST's from the original anime version of Hellsing, RAID and RUINS are brilliant, my personal favourite after FF7's soundtrack, which pwns all lol.

The OST From Gundam SEED is pretty swinging too, jaunty J-pop and lovely instrumental interludes.

Samurai Champloo has an awesome soundtrack, quite an eclectic mix of styles and genres.

The Fate Stay/Night OST is another favourite of mine, been listening to it a lot recently.

Though Music in anime is generally of a high standard, at least that's what I've found anyway.

Final Fantasy XII and XIII as well as Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles.
Also Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo.
Outlaw Star is okay.
Oh, and Fooly Cooly, Howl's Moving Castle and Princess Mononoke!

Gotta be Ghost in the Shell: SAC OST, I love the opening and closing songs from the show, other than that, have a lot of Megumi Hayashibara and Utada Hikaru, b/c the Kingdom Hearts songs rocked, in both games, especially the opening song from the first one

Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and the Elfen Lied main theme and its variations are pretty good

I also need to add Detective Conan OP/ED's to my list as well as some of the Prince of Tennis music, especially near the end of the series, and there was this one song, I need to find that ep I was watching early it was partway through it sounded really good, I'm going to have to make you watch it later silk so remind me

I still love the Death Note one. But for games I'll have to go with most of the Final Fantasy games.

i really like the Prince of Tennis opening espically the 8th opening, which i believe is called Dream Beliver. for the gemes i go with the Final Fantasy

I'd go with the prince of tennis OST and the gundam wing OST for the anime and the FF7 and kingdom hearts along with the dynasty warriors and samurai warriors OSTs for the games.
