Last week I added 5 Centimeters per Second to the anime movies page. If you haven't watched it, I suggest you do. And if you have, what did you think about it? Was it as great as they claimed it to be? I liked it quite a bit, but I don't really think the director is like the next Miyazaki. What do you think Anime Fuel community?

i just watched this... it reminded me a lot of 'Voices of a Distant Star' then i realised this was also done by Makoto Shinkai!
It is one of the BEST animes of all time. Makoto is really coming into his own... and yes no doubt if continues this way he will be the next Miyazaki for sure. His themes aren't as 'Disney' as Miyazaki and he goes into life issues...
The artwork is amazing... i heard it took him a few weeks/months at a time just to draw a few frames... the details are so realistic that it put me right into Japan again... the scenes of Shinjuku station, the trains, the convenience shops and the urban city scape is super accurate...
The music score was good as well and just enhanced the emotion and feeling of what the story was trying to tell the audience...
I'm not going to say anymore in fear of ruining it for the viewers out there so you're just going to have to watch it!
