Recommend anime?

There is so many anime on this site, so can anybody recommend any anime for me to watch beside naruto and bleach?

Desert Punk is funny. And so is Midori No Hibi even though its not full action its a good change im watching it now good for laughs.

Well if your looking for a slightly more mature anime but with the same amount of action definately samurai champloo and beserk, both have the best fight scenes in any animes i've seen.

Other popular stuff is full metal panic, gundam, yuyu hakusho. If you say more specifically what your looking for i can help out better =).

For action Black Lagoon is pretty much essential viewing. Mercenaries in an exotic locale, pretty much non stop gunfights and chases, and some hilarious dialogue ( laughed my ass off at some of the lines)

The new series in the GUNDAM franchise, Gundam 00 is a must see, awesomely awesome indeed. If you're new to the whole gundam scene, its still easily enjoyable as its not related to any other series really.

Ouran High School Host club is decent, quite funny and very light viewing, not too heavy with the angst (thankfully)

Samurai Champloo is one of the slicker Samurai/Ancient Japan setting anime shows out there, doesn't take itself too seriously and has some really fantastic fight sequences, snappy dialogue and a great soundtrack that has hip hop overtones mixed in with traditional music and a variety of other genres.

Full Metal Panic is a favourite of mine, funny and full of action, gotta watch it.

Hellsing is possibly THE best vampire anime around, so damn cool, you NEED to see it!

Naruto makes me want to kill myself, Bleach makes me vomit compulsively, and Inuyasha makes me want to roll over and die. However, if you like more mature material, I would recommend Elfen Lied, GITS: SAC (both 1st and 2nd gigs,) Cowboy Bebop, Beserk, Samurai Champloo, and on the less mature but more involving side, Death Note and FMA. (some of these are "Mature" because of plot, ideas and complexity that younger veiwers won't get, not ecchi or amazing amounts of gore.)

i would recommend Clannad only about a third of the way through series though something unexpected in it iv'e enjoyed it so far, another one would be peace maker, Claymore, Ouran High School Host Club, tenjou tenge and samura 7 i would recommend all of them :P would go on for longer but to many to talk about :P well hope this kind of helps:p

personally I found Prince of Tennis and Eyeshield 21 fairly addictive, and if you watch eyeshield then veoh has the ones missing from the site up to 112 I think it was, another good one that we don't have on the site is Hikaru no Go though I'd suggest finding it w/ english dubbing, MAR(Marchen Awakens Romance) is interesting too, although I'm still waiting for someone on youtube to finish uploading the last 11 of 75 eps, I'm sure there are some others but right now I'm concentrating on my manga while I upload some more series for the site

yea, the ending sucked.....I was waiting for more... but you know, sense is kind of new, you never know if they're making a second season. What some ppl say is that sense the manga still going, and they changed part of the plot or something like that, then they were thinking from the start to make a short anime and if this is true then there isn't going to be a second season. In my opinion, if they're smart enough, they'll make a second season, cuz i haven't heard one person that didn't like claymore. If they make a second season, it'll be just wins wins for them. So I'm thinking the answer to your question is yes, i think they're going to make a sequel.

I know its old but Ninja Scroll is pretty sweet and in Blood+ Saya and sum chavilers use sword like appendages but its set now so theres guns and whatnot. but they are both cool. I recommend them.

Alrighty lets see if i can explain this the right way in text.(im much better at speaking my thoughts, when writing they seem to come out jumbled) Ok i need new anime to watch, ive only seen a few LOVED LOVED LOVED Blood+ deathnote . Claymore looked really cool but it seemed to drag to me lots and lots of. "i must keep fighting but his yoki is so strong" "y is she still fighting her yoki as so weak!! wait whats this shes been hiding it??!?" "good thing i hid my yoki so he wouldn't know my true power" " is this her true power?!?! than i will fight at my true power!!" "wait howd i not sense his yoki was this strong?!?!" and see it got old just reading it!! DBZ was kinda like that but they developed the characters more and would cut to other story lines to keep u interested. I mean it was the same in deathnote sort of them talking about rather thinking about what the other was thinking about trying to outsmart each other and i loved that it kept u guessing. Whial in Claymore you knew that Clare was the stronger opponent i mean she was the main character. anywho back to my point. (see what i ment) I havent seen all of a few like samurai Champloo and bleach so i wana see them but what else could you recommend?

ok, i don't really know what category would it fall into...but i got to tell you, Claymore was really good. It has action as no other, had that melancholy that is needed, has a some blood thoe, i don't know, i really felt in love with this anime. And there is more, but i don't really think they're worth "buying" lol, i wouldn't even buy, i'll just watch it once...

I don't really like Claymore cuz of that ,,,,and if i would, that would be kinda gay :eek::eek::eek: but ya, Claymore was just straight up tight!! There is nothing i would change in the story,,,and the way the characters were made or in the color of it(you know it wasn't all colorful like naruto or shana) the colors match with the plot =D LOL my best friend came to my house last weekend, and i've been telling her " omg omg!! you need to start watching anime!! it's like a drug!! and i bet you that every time you finish watching around 5 episodes non stop, you'll feel like you're floating around the sky and you don't care about anything!!" lol ya, that's what i said to her, and when she came over, we watched claymore(again for me :rolleyes: ) and first time in her life to watch anime. When we finished watching it,(we stop at ep. 8 or 9) well, she was feeling the exact way i described it. I was so happy that now we share the same feelings ^^
lol, i'm sorry i just went off like that, i just had to take my time and appreciate what anime can do to someones life ^^

I really love good stories , drama and tragidy. + i dont like kiddy drawn anime (( Huge eyes , etc etc )) Anime styled is cool. But they should atleast be all Semi-Realiticly drawn. Yehs i am one of the few whom say i didnt like the Drawnging style of Metropolis (( altought , the music and story made up for it 90% ))

Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn is a very fun series it gets kind of predictable at times but a lot of fun. If you haven't already also check out One Piece or Shaman King.

Watch Outlaw Star and Blue Seed if you're more into the smaller episode animes. They're both 26 eps long. Otherwise, I recommend YuYu Hakusho. Awesome series from front to back, and it's got a good deal of humor along with action. Also, each of the fights don't take a DBZ length to go through. I think the longest was in the Chapter Black portion of the series against the main enemy.

So i gave u my POV of most of them to get a feel of the kind of anime that i enjoy. I'm not very picky on what kind of action their is, but i do enjoy having a female aspect in the anime maybe a relationship of somekind. I'm also a big fan of fantasy (vampires and such)

Lucy is a diclonius. She is able to use her telekinetic powers to operate her “vectors,” long arm-like extensions capable of inflicting great damage. She violently massacres the staff at the research facility where she was imprisoned, only to be hit in her helmet by a sniper’s bullet and fall into the ocean. The wounded Lucy is found by Yuka and Kohta, who decide to take care of the confused girl who washes up on the nearby beach. Lucy develops a split personality from the head trauma, and forgets the damage she had inflicted at the facility. They aren’t going to let her go easily though.

Have you seen, "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya"? I think it was very funny, and the 2nd season is out soon.

For some violence you should consider Basilisk (2005).

Have you seen Death Note? Has a little thinking and moral issues. Don't really know whether i consider it a great anime, but is has some excellent situations.

depending on what you what, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann ceases to make sense about 15 episodes in, but it has the manliest character in existence. Frankly relatively silly fights. If your looking for the extreme, Claymore and Berserk might be the way to go. Elfen Lied is decent as well, lots of blood sex and violence... 3 basic food groups.

I'm new to Animefuel and not so sure about which anime I would like. I prefer to ask the community for tips on great anime instead of sitting and watching the first episode of every one of them, asking seems faster.

I have heard of a few, and have had some interest in about two, they are Bleach and Deathnote. I'm usually into the more serious anime and not so big a fan of any exaggeration of funny events. From what I've seen from the first 10 episodes of Bleach, I'm o.k. with mild exaggeration. Deathnote is just all around realistic, I've only seen 3 episodes and already i enjoy it. Don't get me wrong, I love the fantasy genre.

There is one exception to the massive display of funny situations though - FLCL. I only saw episode five, but i have to say, the amount of comedy out weighs my slight dislike of it.

So, my question is, what would be some good suggestions?

(P.S. - I've heard rumor of a Mega Man X anime floating around out there?)

Well, then welcome to AF. For some simple anime suggestions I would point you into the direction of Tsubasa: Reservoir Chornicles, Full Metal Alchemist and D.Gray-Man, all are really great anime that fits your standards. As for the Mega Man I have nnnooooo idea.

D.Gray-Man, it has some comedy and a lot a nice fight scenes. It's pretty interesting. I'm only on the 32 ep. but so far it's fantastic!

Samurai Champloo, I've only watched a few eps. my self but its pretty good, has a fair few fight scenes in it.

If you havent checked out Naruto you should, thats also a very good show. As far as Bleach and Death Note, Death Note is the best of the best, nothing, in my opinion, can beat it. Bleach is pretty good as well. Hope this helped at least a little bit ^^

full metal alchemist is a good choice, good plot, good production, serious, but enough humour to make it loveable. I'd hold off on flcl for a bit, it's probably my favorite show, but it's appreciated far better after watching other anime first. basilisk might be cool for you. It actually crosses pretty good between death note and bleach come to think of it. Otherwise, if you're down for some seriousness, try ghost in the shell: sac. you just have to get used to a few politicky words and the whole things starts to get intriguing beyond imagination. welcome and enjoy!

If you're in to Ghost in the shell and you've seen most of it, then this is a good movie to check out. also if you like the style of perfect blue, check out satoshi Kon's other flicks. they're not as dark, but they're really well done: millenium actress, paprika, tokyo godfathers.

perhaps you could try Full Metal Panic!, it's got action and mechas, but overall the series tends to be a little more comical than serious like Code Geass.

or, if you want a change, try Great Teacher Onizuka....currently watching it. also has PLENTY of episodes to keep you busy in between the looooong waits =P

Well the suggestions should come after you define what kid of series youre looking for. By now I think that maybe Samurai X, basilisk, Claymore are safe to said you probably like (and they are not so long as naruto).
You can also try Bleach (it still going), and maybe Cowboy bebop (very short, very good).
If you like sports maybe can try Hajime no ippo (boxing, very good) Slam dunk (basketball) Eyeshield-21 (football), Initial D (ilegal racing). Most (I think all, but not sure) of this series you can find them in this site, but with subs. (I really think that subs are better than dubs, many times they change things in the dubs). Good luck!
