FLCL is top notch here. It's got hilarious characters, a near nonsensical story, fighting robot action, drama, baseball, adorable kitty cats, kick ass guitars, interdimensional portals in people's heads, gun fights, eyebrows, amazing production, and still manages to poke fun at pretty much everything anime. all in 6 episodes :D
go watch, you won't be disappointed.

Ok I know tons of animes but pure joy... i know u mean to not think of it dirty but of course the thought crossed my mind...sorry it's habit...so do you mean like a plot with no real sad parts/harsh time and a happy go merry type ending? Or a happy ending with some drama...sad moments? Most of the plots these days are all love or fighting based so which do you want for joy to entertwine with? Need a bit more detail and do u have a preference in animation, as in does it have to be old-school, high detail, or just anything? GANTZ, i just told someone in another post to watch it. Just like Gigica mentioned, you should definitely watch it, its a great anime. Plus its only 26 episodes so if you don't wanna spend to much time on an anime, it should only take 3 days to watch. I watched it in 2.

If you enjoy Aliens, Time Travellers and Espers, then watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (14 Episodes). Possibly one of the greatest anime's I've seen so far.
Also, if your looking for something quick which includes robots and such, FLCL (6 Episodes) is really good as well.
BUT, if your into all that perverted stuff, Golden Boy (6 Episodes) is for you.

Also:
For 5cmspersec, you said that you liked romance. If you haven't already, I would watch NANA (39 Episodes?)

I like something that is adult oriented but not all hentai. I like a good story and usually I go for either sci-fi or fanatsy (medieval and feudal asian), but anything will do. Vampires and undead are cool too...

Ok, I think I got the anime mixed up and put multiple ones together, as I definitely watched maburaho.

Ok, the anime starts with a kid. He gets sent to another dimension and is assigned to the highest level school.

He's the first human allowed in the dimension since the other Demon" king caused so much trouble and was Killed?

He gets picked on a lot but is able to fight back, makes friends with other loser magic users.

And some master chick takes him on as an apprentice because he fought some huge flying book and brought her the right book back.

GANTZ is extremely over-the-top with its violence, with virtually every new "team member" dying every time Gantz has a mission for them. The first mission features such marvelous ways of dying as exploding from the inside (many times), decapitation, and other good stuff.

Plus, GANTZ also has a ton of nudity, idiotic social observations, and several sex scenes.

It's probably the raunchiest anime ever. And not all that great of one either, if you ask me. It's not terrible, but very hit-and-miss.

However, be warned that after the first burst of violence, there isn't any more for a while. There's quite a few episodes of real-world boring stuff between the Gantz missions.

I am very picky about the anime that I watch. Right now I'm looking for an anime that's has real good fight scenes. I'm not asking you to name a single fight from different animes, I just want to know which anime do you think has better fights over the rest. I think that if an action anime has bad fights then it's not worth my time.

on a side note, I like anime that shows blood and death. Something more mature, you know. So don't suggest things like One Piece.

I've actually seen Neon Genesis and it's the first manga I bought. :D
I loved that serie. Eureka 7's not my style, but it's awesome with robots surfing in the air.
