DEATH religon or science?

do we die and thats it. our bodies just disapear and then ....nothing? no after life or ''heaven'' what do you think. what happens. Ive heard different storys and things but im kinda torn (i think theyre both right) what do you think

I've said this before on another board and I'm saying it again. Children should stay out of debates. If somehow you're not under 18, then I'll rephrase that to, "Immature and underdeveloped 'adults' should stay out of debates".

To answer the question, though, after we die our bodies rot and turn into fertilizer for the grass, trees, plants, etc. The "religious death" is for the weak of mind and body. They think that dying isn't so bad. That they will go to heaven and will see their loved ones. Which is stupid.

jeez Ryuuzaki certainly is a boss about it but i have to agree, nothing special in it, just leaving this world and thats it, but who's to say that in that death you dont fall into an eternal dream (which religious fanatics could call heaven)? surely noone has been dead and brought back to life to say 'no'...call me a hopeless optimistic if you want

I believe when we die... We all get a care package that has:

A watermelon, a pack of Oreos, Toilet Paper, a can opener, June 1978 issue of Hustler (that was bad), a bottle rocket, and three blind, dead mice....

Then we are set loose on the a dessert planet. Yes... "Dessert"... I meant that.

Then we all take place in a Toe Wrestling Tournament to see who wins all of the dead blind mice.

FOR THE REST OF ETERNITY!!!

Firstly, do not be rude to the staff. Secondly, I do listen to younger people, and they do surprise me. They surprise me by showing me how ignorant and immature they are.

Maybe let's not hijack the thread? You ask a valid question, Midna4.

I don't believe the existence of the supernatural and the data of natural observation/research are mutually exclusive. So I think there's a problem with the premise here. But beyond that, there are some explanations of evidence which are better than others. Personally, I believe in an afterlife, with Judgment.

The thread was intended for discussion. If you don't think about this issue, it really just clutters things to make a post saying so. Either add a few cents to the pool, or enjoy watching the discussion from afar. Things will proceed better for everyone that way. :)

In an effort to circle back into the topic at hand, I suggest that people should think about this matter of death. It's very important, because your view of what occurs after you die directly affects your view of what is valuable in life. If you believe in divine involvement/judgment, you'll want to get to know the Judge and figure out how He/She wants you to go about your life. If it's reincarnation, you'll want to understand why people reincarnate at all, what it all means. Regardless, your worldview WILL shape your behavior, values and lifestyle - what you believe about death is a part of that worldview.

So get to thinkin'! :)
