Well, the two thousands, aka the 00's, aka the 2K's, aka whatever you want to call this decade is about to come to a close.
These past ten years seem like they have gone by surprisingly fast yet surprisingly slow. For a lot of young'uns here, it's the first full decade you've lived through. So very many things have happened in these ten short years. The world has changed. Which brings us to the topic...
2000-2009
THE DECADE IN REVIEW
How has this decade of internets, networks, and computers; this decade of crises, calamities, and catastrophes; this decade of crazy trends, mad media, and furious fads; how has this decade of MADNESS been???
What do you personally think are some of the biggest landmarks of the decade? Similar things may come up for some people, and some things may be wildly different between others.
Some categories to consider:
Best Films
Best Video Games
Best Songs/Albums
Best Animes
Best Websites
Best Events
Best Year Overall
Best ANYTHING AT ALL
(Also of course the opposites of all these with the worst of the decade!)
Remember, only mention things that have happened after January 1, 2000!
How is your decade in review? Tough to decide some stuff isn't it?
I'll be posting mine some time soon! Have fun with the nostalgia!

it really wasnt all that great. i guess the best things that happened i guess were the films Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly. Video Game wise i guess Halo 3 and Mirrors Edge. The best album in my opinion was Clutch's Strange Cousins From The West, and eventwise; we all got pretty much screwed on that except for the election of a black president.

For best film, you need to obviously come to consensus on what's allowed: Remakes, if a series is being re-done, sequels (I don't know if that's spelled right), or if you only allow new movies all together.
With that, if you allow everything I would have to put my vote to "The Dark Knight", if you only allow new movies and franchises it would go to either "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" or "Wall-e".
It's also hard to judge for best videogame, because you have to decide how to factor in sales, review between all different sites, game mags, otherwise, and then general opinion of everyone who bought it. However, even if you take all of that into consideration, the only 3 titles that will come up are going to be "Halo 2", "Call of Duty 4", and the better of the "Modern Warfare" titles. Why? Strictly the multiplayer, and that puts all of them in competing terms. By terms of single player, Modern Warfare and Call of Duty 4 edge out Halo 2.
Songs and albums, same deal as above. I don't buy albums and I don't listen to very much from this side of the century, so I don't have any opinions on this.
Best anime, it's largely opinion. My opinion, Eureka 7, but more likely it will be Death Note or Code Geass.
Best websites is again, opinion, especially when you consider that some sites are professionally made for an entire business or a tv station.
Best event is really easy. It's the 2008 elections, where for the first time we had a woman run for vice president, a woman run for president, and the ultimate victor of the elections was the first president to have an african american background.
The best year overall is 2000, the last year of Bill Clinton's presidency and the last whole year of overall U.S. success and Euro/Asian/American/African peace (American meaning the continents, not the U.S. nation), before 2001 was cemented with a date of a major terrorist attack, and every following year marred by war.

It's all opinion based, Mr.quietchat, we're asking what do you personally consider to be the best that came out of this decade!
(Remakes included)

After consideration, I've compiled some of my personal favorite landmarks of the decade!
Best Films
As far as collective film series go, the Lord of the Rings trilogy is probably the best complete film series to come out of the decade. Many other series got their start this decade (Spiderman, Harry Potter, X-Men, and every Dreamworks CG movie to name a few), but Lord of the Rings is one of the most epic movie trilogies and best book-to-film adaptations in a decade of comic and book adaptations.
Some of my favorite individual movies that came out this decade include: V for Vendetta, Sideways, Lost in Translation, The Royal Tenenbaums, Shaun of the Dead, Borat, Ratatouille, and Donnie Darko. There are a lot of really good movies that came out this decade that I still need to watch, so my list may change in times to come.
Honorable mentions for WORST movies I've seen from this decade... Twilight, All of the "Movie" parodies (Scary Movie, Epic Movie, etc)
Best Games
This took me a while to decide, as I'm quite the gamer and I've played countless games over the past 10 years. But after much thought, I've decided that the best video game to come out of this decade is... Metroid Prime. There have been so many great games this generation and the last but I think that Metroid Prime trumps them all. I didn't quite notice it the first time I played it not too long after it came out in 2002, but from looking back and more playthroughs, Prime is one of the best games ever.
Other awesome games of the 00's: Paper Mario, Metal Gear Solid 3, Final Fantasy IX, Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Shadow of the Colossus, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 2 + 3, Metroid Fusion
Best Songs/Albums
Music wise, the 00's have seen some big changes. The rise of the internet made way for truly independent musicians, the invention of autotune made way for untalented garbage, and the rise of Disney made way for corporation whores that enslaved millions of children. I'm not really huge on the music scene, and most of the best stuff is from the 20th century, but there are two bands in particular that I've loved from this decade. Radiohead and Gorillaz.
Yes I know Radiohead started in the 90's, but starting with their albums from the 00's, they started to get really good. My favorite song from them this decade is Jigsaw Falling into Place, from their newest album In Rainbows.
Gorillaz got their start this decade, and they've become one of my favorite groups. They have a great sound, and even though I don't care for hip-hop, they blend it quite well into a few songs. My favorite song from them is predictably Feel Good Inc. from Demon Days.
I'm looking forward to more of them in the decade to come, as both Radiohead and Gorillaz have new albums planned for 2010.
Honorable mentions for WORST artists of the decade: Any Disney "musician", Mindless rappers, Pretty much anything on the top music charts these days
Best Animes
This is Anime Fuel, so the best animes are a must! Most of the animes we have on this site are from the 00's anyway. Up until this decade, anime was pretty much a small niche market outside of Japan (compared to most other media it still is today, really), and it's really exploded recently.
The best anime movie from this decade is without a doubt Spirited Away. It's the best Miyazaki movie and one of the best animated films ever. Bottom line.
The best anime series has gotta be Fullmetal Alchemist. I absolutely love FMA, and it's not even that old, although it sort of seems that way. The second series is still airing as we speak, and so far I'm thinking it might be even better than the first.
Other great animes: Death Note, Code Geass, Elfen Lied, Welcome to the NHK, Ergo Proxy
Best Websites
The best new website from the 00's is YOUTUBE. It's hard to imagine a time before Youtube, but it's only been around since 2005. Youtube pretty much revolutionized the way we share video content. It contains both the best and the worst of the internet and has created an empire of online video. Odds are that you spend a considerable amount of your time online watching Youtube videos.
Other good websites (that started this decade): 4chan (Don't deny it), Wikipedia, Technically I can't put Google since it was founded in '98 but... it really took off this decade
WORST websites: 4chan (best of both worlds), Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, (Yeah yeah, social revolution with those sites, but they're still annoying)
Best Events
The "Digital Age"
Of course the internet started a long time ago, I remember surfin' in the 90's, but it wasn't until this decade that we entered "The Digital Age". Computers with internet access became widespread to anyone and everyone around the world. Information about anything can be transferred to anyone you want in seconds. Portable digital music players and store thousands of songs in our pockets. Cell phones now have built-in web browsers, GPS's, bluetooth, 3G, cameras, and keyboards. You can pay your bills, do your shopping, and visit your family all while sitting on your ass in front of a computer. We have access to more information at any given time than all the people in the course of history put all together.
Ever sit back and think "Wow, we've come a long way"? We've probably had more advancements these past ten years than we have had the past century. Back in the 90's to consider we'd be this far in 10 years was crazy. We still don't have hoverboards yet, but we're working on it.
Best decade ever? Maybe not.
Most important decade? Possibly so.
