The world will not end in 2012 because:

As most people believe we all think that Jesus was born in the year "0" so like 2009 years ago. But really it was discovered that Jesus was acutally born in the year -4 Or 4 BC. So if you add those additional 4 years, plus the believed 2009 years you get 2013. Which means it is technically 2013. Therefore the year 2012 is already passed.

Also what ever happened to 1997, 2000 and 2006 and last year. Everyone said the world was going to end on those dates too, we are all still alive.

Nothing, I was pointing out how technically the year right now is 2013. Yet it is documented right now as 2009. In the western World people believed the first marked date was when Jesus was born marking that year as the first year. Which they discovered about 100 years ago is that Jesus was born 4 years prior to the first marked date.

I agree with my fellow Fuellites and say that 2012 is not the end of times. The only thing that happened was that the Mayan calendar stopped on a particular date. That is it. There were no hieroglyphics or pictographs that told any thing different. The sun calendar just stopped. They went that far for their own societal reasons and nothing more. Ignorance and the unenlighten will take something they had no knowledge of and make it more than what it is. Especailly when it comes to a culture the old Roman Catholic church deemed a devil culture or Heathenistic or Pagan. It was easier to do that so it could be justified to steal their gold rather than learn about who they really are and what they really were about. Which in turn, gave the greedy and cruel a reason to take things they did not understand and warp them into something not even remotely close to the truth as it really is, but a lie that can be controlled for a while.

I do find it laughable when the end of the worlders go running around predicting, with their uninformed selves, that the earth is going to end when they say. And even when it does end we won't be here to see it. But the real question remains: will humanity be ready to survive on a level it is not ready to be at? We look to movies and T.V. for one person's vision as to what will happen and their opinion is what drives the scared and ignorant to say anything for attention.

That's all I have to say on that, for now.

Yes the Mayan Calender stops on 12212012, but for what reason. If you think about it logically our Planets in our solar system along with our galaxy will line up perfectly with the center of the universe. This is what the Mayans believed to be the starting point for time. So if this is where we started then why not end the calender and start over just like the end of a day or year. Their calender had a starting and ending point that was determined by a universal happening thats all. So tired of the hype.
