iTunes doesn't download on my computer and you need Java for LimeWire but Java won't download on my computer. Are there any other popular music stores?

I think it'd be easier for you to figure out why you can't get either of those to run on your computer.... Or just use youtube and have your music free.

A Javaless computer is a sad computer indeed. Regardless of whether you want Limewire or not, you really should figure out why you can't use Java.
Of course, programs that use Java SUCK, but there are a few instances where it's necessary.

other than that, there's a thread in the music section about sites that stream music. You just load the page, click play and let it go. computer=jukebox. comes in handy a lot.

this is how I get music on my Ipod
step 1, install firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html)
step 2,get the add-on "video downloadhelper (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=video+downloadhelper&cat=all)"(it is the one with the icon of 3 balls)(downloadhelper, 1 word)
step 3, install video downloadhelper (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=video+downloadhelper&cat=all) and restart firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html)
step 4, normal stream a song from "playlist.com (http://www.playlist.com/)"
step 5, when the song finishes LOADING click the arrow next to the download helper icon and click the bottom option that goes down
step 6, set itunes to default music player, and play the song
and poof free music
ps download helper also downloads videos, but you need another application to convert them for Itunes.

I'd try jamglue or mp3raid.com. you can download songs for free because members upload the songs to the site.
