Okay so I have heard that most all of the Final Fantasy games have been beyond amazing. I'm an avid gamer and I find it very odd how I haven't picked one up before. So my question to all of you who know the game well enough to help me out. Where do I begin? I'd rather have one for a larger system however I do not own a PS3 but I do have the Wii, PS2, XBox, and the basic DSI.

Can anyone assist me in my search for one of the better games? I know for certain that they all follow a seperate path, and I don't really care whether or not it's a newer version or old. I just need a new game to emerse myself into ^^

I thank you all ahead of time.

With all the systems you have, you can get any of the Final Fantasy games pretty much. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 are all available for PS1, 10, 11, and 12 are on PS2, and FF 3 is on DS.

As for which one to start with, you can't go wrong with one of the older games, which are still considered some of the best. I would recommend either 4 or 6, as they are both great. The PS1 versions come in sets of two games each also, with FF Origins, Chronicles, and Anthology. If you want to be really cliche, you can start with 7, which, while still being an excellent game, is the one that so many people got introduced to FF with. But whichever one you choose, Final Fantasy games are some of the best RPGs ever.

Ah I thank you Koopaking, I figured starting with the older versions would be best. Having so many out there now I was just a bit lost. I will most definately search for those in particular.

I figured the older versions would be a. less expensive, and b. shall they follow the same route as another, they would show the start of it all. Getting lost halfway through a game or even a movie is never any fun without knowing how it all started.

Only problem is finding copies of the older games. FF 10 isn't that bad and it's on the PS2 and should be easy enough to get.

Yes I was just thinking about that, however I have a few Gamestops scattered around me. I shouldn't have a problem... but then again you never know. ^^

FF13 is coming to PS3 soon. On Game Boy Advance you have FF 1-6, I think. Also, FF Advance.

And if you're interested you can download PS1 and GBA emulators on your PC and then download the games you want for free.

As for my favourite FF games. Final Fantasy 5, 10 and 12.

emulators can be a good means for older systems, I played 4 and 6 on my computer years back.
Though most of the good ones to start with can be had on PS1. My favs were 7, 9, and tactics. It's likely you won't go wrong wherever you start, so enjoy.

Well, going off of what koopaking said, there are also FF games that don't have a number.
Games like
FF: Tactics for the PS1 and the remake for PSP.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is a rare one. The first one was for the gamecube and it spread sequels into the DS and Wii.
It's better to check wikipedia about it.

Wow, you guys are awesome. All of this info, I've been checking them out online at different places to see which have the higher ratings, it seems 7 and 10 are the more popular ones, but if I can find the earlier ones I may pick them up. I'd rather play them on the tv rather than the smaller screened DS. Playstation versions are usually much better.

Thanks everyone ^^ It's better to know everyone's oppinions to compare them all gamewise.
