Cure my Head Banging by venting my angers
says it all right here
so I went to the theater to enjoy the latest Transformers the Revenge of the Fallen movie.
Looking at the trailer previews I realized that Hollywood is totally running out of movies. Remaking movies that have been made only with more fancy explosions and more sexual references.
Now They are adapting books into movies (New Moon) I'll be honest the book isn't that great so I don't understand the cult following that has arisen from this.
G.I Joe....REALLY????!
And possibly the diamond of my venting. a LONG time ago there was a debate whether Avatar the Last Airbender should be considered a anime....i devoutly disagreed and said that it was not a anime with strong beliefs that it should not go onto this website. M. Night Shamaylan producer, director whatever of Signs, Sixth Sense, Lady in teh water. ect. ect ect....anyways he is directing the RL version of The Last Airbender.... to prove that it is not just a coincidence a monk boy with a giant arrow is on his head and he is blowing wind at fire wielding soilders
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0938283/ just to show that i am not B.s ing you guys

anyways the point of this thread is to just vent......do you guys see adaptions or remakes all over the movie scene? the music scene?
How do you feel about the fact that instead of creating something they can call their own they take something already out there and make it their own.....come on now

Well books were always being made into movies and I don't see any problem with that. The issue with that is that they screw up the story. Just look at Eragon some other books that were completely distorted...

I agree with you krazykandy though that Hollywood doesn't produce any quality movies anymore. Most movies are explosions, superpowerful guys that save the world and well, some regular romance stories. They don't focus on the plot and the story but on the action. They are trying to impress with huge explosions, erotic scenes, fast action and some witty comments here and there. That's not enough though because the movies lose their meaning...

Come to think of it, aside from the sort of golden age of movies around the 70's into the 80's, hollywood's always been making crap in abundance. Good movies are hard to find regardless of your era, but I think I can give some benefit to doubt in the modern day case. With there being more money around, bigger budgets, and more people cutting throats to make movies, I'm not surprised that a lot of crap movies are made. Now in the case of the summer blockbusters, I don't know why you'd complain. Those movies aren't put together for you to get emotionally spun, they're there for explosions, sex and whatever else fills a mindless hour or two. Don't like it, then don't bother. Obviously more people bother because summer is the highest grossing for movie sales, that's why flashy/kitchy movies come out around now.
As for avatar, it was retarded anyway (no offence). The funny thing is that M. Night Shamalan is directing it. It's so left field for his movies. I guess he hasn't made a movie with a stupid twist ending in a year or so, so he might as well make the last air bender. gotta pay those bills.

i'll say once again it was not summer movies coming out it was the previews....transformers itself was awesome .........i am just saying some of these movies seem to come ot a full circle....for example though not the exact same.....Man on Fire and Taken.....Girl gets taken by a organization that specializes in kidnapping...and the main male character goes on a murdering rampage on anyone who was involved.....love movies having the same basic plot
as for book to movies i agree some of it is off the main plot....the only book to movie i have seen that was good was LOTR series...for a bunch of reasons
