Alright, here I've gone again and brought something up I've found in the news.
Some college student stole some traffic barrels and made a cool sculpture out of it. Police arrested him and are trying him for vandalism, but no one else seems to have a problem with it, including the company he stole the barrels from. Wadda you think?

EDIT: Damn it. I wanted a pole, but it won't let me insert one now T_T

That was kind of cool, I think the police are being a little bit of a pain in the ass about it though. Most of the time, if the charges were dropped or not pressed in the first place, the police would let the offender go, which makes me wonder why they are so insistent on keeping him despite the support of the company who he got the cones from.

well I see why the police is being persistant and it's because if they let one persone get away with it, they would have to give everyone a freebie. but still, you can't help but smile at those things

No, they wouldn't have to give everyone a freebie, you can't file destruction of property charges if the party whose property was destroyed declines to file charges.

Well since the company obviously doesn't press charges the police will obviously let him go...sooner or later. The process can be extraneous and he may sit for a while, but his release is imminent.

haha, I like that. I could see it being an issue if it were city property, but if it's some company and they don't care, then there's nothing they can charge him with. That's that pretty much. I got yelled at once by a cop for picking one up, so I guess the moral is, cops are anal.
