(Whoot! Another story that I came up with. I had to write this for class.)
The night sky was a navy blue/black color that night. It was clear in the night there was a few stars in the sky. The stars were neatly dotted, shinning like little diamonds. There was one star in the sky, it was a cyan blue color and it stood out from all the others. The city was quiet, not a car in sight and not a person around. The only sound that could be heard was the odd flickering sound of the lamp post.
In the window still of a small pawn shop, there was a pretty, well kept golden heart shaped pendent. On the front of the pendent ,carved in little white diamonds there was an “O”. The pendant it self was on a little gold chain. The little diamonds on the pendent shine was bright like the stars.
The shadowy figure of a young boy walked past the shop. His tail swaying behind him, his head was covered by a black hood. His eyes then caught the glimpse of the pendant. He stopped walked and stared at it for a second.
“hmmmm...perfect,” He though
He kept on looking at the pendant. Then he glanced at the price tag that read “$186.00” . He smiled a little and turned around the corner and walked up the street. He stopped when he came to a nicely, sized house. It was a brownish bricked There was a lovely flower garden in the front of the house. There was one row of roses, one row of lilacs and many other rows of different colored flowers. There was also a balcony, located outside a room, whose window was open.
He sniffed the air. The welcoming, pleasant scent made him smile. He walked towards the front door and opened it slowly. He then flipped his hood of his head, revealing his soft brown eyes and shoulder length red hair. On top of his head was a pair of black dog-like ears.
“Coast is...” he began in a light whisper.
“Where have you been?!” A lady's voice called from the kitchen that was across the hall.
He froze up when he heard the lady's voice. Stepping inside the house he looked down the hall to see a young lady in the late 20's. She had long red hair and the most stunning of blue eyes. On top of her head there was a pair of black furred dog ears, behind her there was a long furred dog like tail.
The young boy removed his hooded jacket and hung it up on a coat hanger that he had grabbed from the closet that was located near the front door. He then hung his jacket in the closet and closed the door over a little and looked at the lady again, and then he sighed.
“Hi mom...”
“Kaiza, were have you been? It's 10pm, your curfew is at 9...”
“Mom, I was...I was just walking around town,”
“It's not safe for a 12 year old boy to be roaming the streets at night,”
“Mom, nothing is going to happen…”
“Never say nothing will happen, life has a way of sneaking up on you when you least expects it,”
“Yeah Yeah I know. Where is Seala and Luna?”
“Seala is upstairs in her room and Luna is in her room, playing wth Star. And supper is just about to be ready,”
“What's for supper?” Kaiza asked, walking into the kitchen who was fallowed by his mother.
“Chocolate flavoured oatmeal with orange juice. And if you would like a snack before bed then there is apply slices or strawberries,” The mother said, opening the fridge, removing the jug or orange juice.
Kaiza walked looked at the table and smiled, noticing it was not set yet. He nodded his head once and then he decided that he was going to help her. He walked over to the cupboard that was next to the fridge and opened it. He reached up and lifted down five bowls and placed them on the counter. He closed over the door and walked over to the table and neatly sat them at each spot at the table.
“Kaiza, I will set the rest of the table, can you please call your sisters and brother?”
“Okay mom.”
Kaiza walked out off the kitchen and down the hall. He passed a small table that was in the hall. The table was wooden with little carved markings in it. In the center of the table there was a vase of flowers. Five fresh red roses stood in the vase, and in the center of them all was one white rose. On wall too the left of the vase there was a beautiful, stunning framed photograph of there parents when they got married. The father Jessie, a young man, handsomely dressed in a black tux had his hands around the waist of his new bride and his lips were resting on her cheek. The mother Aki, a young lady beautifully dressed in a white dress had her head resting against the chest of her new husband. Their smiles were bright and happy. The picture was so perfect that just looking at the photo you can feel their love and see it in their eyes. On the table in a little photo frame there was a beautifully taken photograph of Kaiza and his twin sister when they were babies. On the wall, to the right of the vase there was another stunning framed photograph. This was the wedding picture of their Aunt Kyiona and Uncle Clayton. Once again this picture was filled with love as the couple in the photo were locked in a pose. His arms around her waist, her arms around his neck, their lips locked in a small, loving kiss. Finally, the picture that was sitting right in front of the vase was a small photo. In the photo was a young girl who was dressed in a lovely white dress, that had small blue flowers on it. Around her neck was a gold pendant that complimented her dress. Her hair was long, wavy black and her eyes were bright, stunning emerald green color. She had a bright and lovely smile. On the photograph at the bottom, there were lettering that read “Osora – Age 16 and a half, 2 months pregnant”
Kaiza walked to the stairs, which were located across from the front door. He walked up a few stairs and stopped.
“Seala, Luna, Star, come down, supper is ready,”
He walked over back down the stairs and into the kitchen were mother was just putting out the food in the bowls. The orange juice was already poured into the glasses. Kaiza took his seat at the table and waited for his siblings to come downstairs.
About two minutes later a small boy about the age of four came trotting into the kitchen. He had blue eyes and blond hair that was marked with red streaks. Just like his mother and brother he had black ears and a tail. His name was Star. He had his arms high in air and taking giant steps, as if he was pretending to be a monster.
“Rawrrrrr I am a big scary demon and I am going to eat you all, rawr!!!”
Aki walked over to him and lifted him up and nuzzled her nose against his, then kissed his cheek and walked over to were the table was and sat him down in a chair.
“Kaiza, have you been telling your brother stories again?” She asked looking at him.
“No mother...it must have been Luna or Seala,”
Two more minutes passed and girl, the same age of Kaiza walked into the room. Seala, his twin born 3 minutes before him. Her appearance resembled the lady that was in the photograph in front of the vase. Long wavy black hair with beautiful green eyes. Only difference was she had a red furred tail and red furred ears. She smiled and looked around before she sat next to her twin. Lastly a younger girl walked into the room. She was around the age of 8 years old. She had bright beautiful blue eyes and very blond hair. Her name was Luna. Her ears and tail were also very blond colored. Her hair was neatly pulled back behind a pink hair band. She was dressed a white shirt, with a blue and white checkered colored skirt. She walked over to the table and sat down very politely. The mother looked at her kids and smiled as they all began to eat.
“Mother, today at school was SOOOOO much fun!” said Luna in a very happy voice.
“Well that’s good, I take it you had fun with Taleah?” Aki asked.
“YES!!! It was fun having family day at school, I have pictures and everything.”
“Well, its good that you have fun with your cousin today,”
Aki smiled at her and then looked around at her other children. Luna then reached into her pocket, pulled out a photograph and handed it to her mother. In the photo there was herself, and a girl who looked a year younger than her. The little girl had brown hair with blond markings in it. Her eyes were blue and she had brown wolf ears and tail, with blond tips. The two little girls had bright smiles on their faces and they were hugging each other.
“Awww, that’s a lovely picture of you and Taleah,” Aki said with a light smile on her face.
“I know, I am so happy we hung out in school all day,” Responded Luna
“Now why can't you and KC get along like that Kaiza?” She asked, turning her attention to Kaiza.
“Because KC is fixed on the idea of following in his father's footsteps,” Kaiza responded in an annoyed voice.
“His personality sure is showing more these days,” Seala said looking at her mother
“Yeah, ever since he turned 13 all he talks about is how is going to be just like his father,”
“ Well, regardless of that, he is your cousin, so you guys have to get along sometime,” Aki said finishing up her oatmeal.
“Yeah...I know,” Kaiza said, sighing.
“You know, I found out today that your Aunt is two months pregnant,” Aki said looking around at the table.
“What? Again…she just gave birth 14 months ago…and they are having another kid so soon?”
“Well… it happens…they celebrated there 12th year anniversary two months ago and well, one thing leads to another and now she is expecting,”
“Oh that’s awesome! Another cousin!” Seala said happily.
“Oh yes…its so wonderful…another cousin,” Kaiza responded with an unenthusiastic, sarcastic tone in his voice.
About half an hour passed and conversation between the family was dying down. It was getting late and it was time for bed. Aki kissed her kids good night and tucked the little one in by reading him a bed time story. Everyone fell asleep quickly and she went downstairs to sit on the couch and read a book.
The clock struck 11pm and she looked up and smiled. She knew within a few minutes her husband would return home and hug her to him, tell her how much he loved herm then they would cuddle up on the couch and fall asleep. She enjoyed life, it was peaceful. She got up walked into the kitchen to clean up some of the dishes that were left from before. Suddenly she felt someone's arms around her neck and she froze up a little, only to smile a second later. She recognized the scent.
“Surprised you again, didn't I, Aki?” A man's voice spoke from behind.
“Yes you did, Jessie” The lady responded in a small voice.
Aki turned around to look up into the eyes of the man she loved. His soft brown eyes smiled back into hers as he pulled her against him and smiled. She smiled and nuzzled up against him. The couple stayed like that for a few minutes. Lost in each others hold. After a couple of minutes of this, Jessie took her hand and lead her over to the couch were he sat down and pulled her onto his lap, wrapping his arms around her waist. Aki rest against him.
“ What did the doctor say?” Jessie asked.
“We will find out tomorrow,” Aki responded.
“The same day as our 13th year anniversary?” He asked, with a smile on his face.
“Yup, the same day. What a wedding gift that would be,”
The couple stayed close to each other. Their love with one another warmed up the room, and filled it with joy and happiness. They each completed the other's life. Their love and devotion to each other was shown though the little moments in life.
Mnwhile upstairs, Luna was looking down on them watching them with a smile on her face.
“Its not nice to spy on people,” Kaiza said, calling from behind.
“Oh I Know..but I can't help it..they are so..”
“I know what you mean...that is why I think they deserve the best anniversary present that we can give them,”
“We already got dad something,”
“And I know what I want to get mom, I saw it today...”
“You did? Were! I wanna see...”
“Okay, how about this. Tomorrow you can come with me to the store were I saw it,”
“I would love too!!”
“Okay then., get some rest and we will leave in the morning,” Kaiza said standing to his feet and helping Luna up.
