The title speaks for itself on this debate. Everytime i go to stores i see the name brand products that are being sold in every aisle. Then i see the store brands. I look at both types but i don't see any real difference between the two. But, what is your opinion on this subject? If you have any examples to support your beliefs please feel free to share them.

When it comes to food, name brand nearly always tastes better, simple as that. Yes, it costs more, and yes the name itself is part of the price, but that doesn't change the fact that you're getting something inferior if you get store brand.

That's just the way it is, really, and anyone who says otherwise either has weird tastes or is just fooling themselves for the better price. Granted, there's nothing wrong with buying the cheaper product...usually they're just fine, if not nearly as good.

...errr!,.

not really the type to look on the store barnd or name brand,.

but,.there are people who are very brand concious,.

like,.there are those who buy gucci only,.and this only,.

on the other hand,.just to share,.

in marketing,.it's important to make a nice brand name for a specific product,.like,.they sould be catchy,.easy to remember,.or nice to hear!,.

so,.both counts,.i think!,.♥

depends on the product I find. A lot of stuff, granted, you have to spoil yourself on, cuz the store brand isn't gonna touch it on their budget (check that rhyme!!!). But there's plenty of stuffs that a store brand can make that's going to be just as good if not better. for example, bread. fresh bread from a grocer or bakery is going to kick the ass of some pile of crap like wonder bread. beans and canned goods are usually on the same level, as well as your basic pastas.

I don't mind paying out more for quality food because I love a good meal. But when it comes to clothes, cheaper the better.

O.o whooa
I was not expecting store brand to be at higher than name brand.
I find the store brands to be cheaper and they seem staler and more delicious.^^

When I go in a store

For Example
I see name brand and store brand
The name brand has a good reputaion and is sometimes brought up in conversation
The store brand is not known but is cheap

On the basis of which is likely to be better, Name Brand holds the top spot. This is reasoned by the fact that a Name brand is forced to compete on a larger scale, with many competitors possibly being desplayed right next to them. Store brands, on the other hand, would dominate the shelves, if not the store itself, and would therefrore have a lesser need to work towards a higher quility. I hope this has been insightfull.
