I play ( .Hack GU ). I think it's one of the most beautiful games out there, not that entertaining though. And I just started the third and last installment, ( .Hack GU Redemption ).

Grunties are aweful in the first .Hack series. However, in the second series, they look pretty cute. and they also have part in the game, since the new series is in a whole new level.

In the other games do you have to feed your baby grunty all that food to get a adult grunty...? I hate doing that because all I get is a noble grunty, even after giving what it wanted.

No, Grunties are just NPCs in the G.U series. And I think you should not waste anymore time OR money on the rest of the old series, and get the new ones instead.

I played a little bit of part2 of the first series, but then I stopped and never played it.
Untill resently, I got the second series, and found it very cool. great stages designs, great characters design and AWEFUL main character, but later in the last part, he would be the coolest thing ever, with the last job extention.

And I also hated the magic system in it. It's very basic and almost useless.
